“Charming hotel”

This is a charming hotel in a great location in downtown San Jose. It is within walking distance of restaurants, museums, and the HP Pavilion, and the trolley passes nearby as well. The service was great, the rooms were clean and nicely furnished, and the price was reasonable.

“Beautiful, but need to soundproof walls.”

This is a hotel with elegance. The only drawbacks is that it doesn't have a bar. However, there is a bar at the marriot across the street. We loved the hotel (it is so beautiful), but would not stay there again because the walls are so thin you can hear everything! The painting & lighting in bathroom ceiling was an amazing idea for decoration.

“Location and charm”

This is a charming hotel with a fabulous restaurant and a location that cannot be beat (it's steps from the San Jose Tech Museum). There were many high class touches, such as the super comfortable bedding and the very nice L'Occitane soaps and shampoo that the hotel provides. The downside is that this is an older hotel, with walls that are a tad thinner than they might be in a newer hotel; we awoke to the sound of someone having a conversation next door. The street noises outside were somewhat loud, too, although this is to be expected at the beginning of the holiday season during San Jose's Christmas in the Park. All in all, these acoustic problems did not detract from the comfort of our stay, We will definitely stay here again.

“Centrally located, nicely restored older hotel”

Can't beat the location of this hotel. We came to town for a Roger Daltrey concert in the civic center, which is just across the street. If you're looking for ultra modern you should probably stay elsewhere, but if you're looking for nicely restored and friendly staff, this is your place. Oh yes, the hotel restaurant, Il Fornaio, is probably one of the best in San Jose.

“Well appointed, totally pleasant experience”

Staff were very responsive when noisy "neighbors" moved in. We had a very pleasant week there.

“Charming!”

Very charming. It's worth it to pay for the Valet (currently $21/ night). The hotel is old but renovated. I thought it was very unique and different. The location is great because you are in a nice part of downtown and it is within walking distance to numerous things; shark tank, museum, convention center, restaurants etc. The only downside is the walls are a little thin. I was able to turn some quiet music on to drown out the neighbors but if you must sleep in perfect silence this may not be the hotel for you, other than that it was great and I would definitely come back.

“Charming European style hotel!”

This was such a lovely room and the hotel employees were extremely kind and helpful. I would love to stay here again. They also have a wonderful Italian restaurant in house. Great downtown setting. The parking system is a bit awkward and the all night valet I thought to be a bit high priced for California, but all in all a lovely hotel. Kathleen
