Centrally located to downtown venuesPosted 5-Mar-2014
Pros: It was close to restaurants, clubs, museums, etc.
The staff was most accommodating when I found that I would need a room with a sofabed. They put me in an "accessible" suite which turn out to be quite spacious and just perfect for the additional person.

Perfect for convention center eventsPosted 5-Mar-2014
Great hotel to spend the night after the "El Mexicano Presenta" events, good to party. Probably not a good option if you want a quiet stay

Valet parkingPosted 4-Mar-2014
The only complaint that I have is the valet pick up. Long wait.

Too noisyPosted 3-Mar-2014
I was unable to sleep. We stayed in room 1515 on Saturday, March 1st. There was some sort of party with loud music going on outside our room in the hallway. At 2am I finally complained to the front desk. It took about another 60-70 minutes before the noise cleared up. I really was hoping for a good night's sleep. The room was beautiful and comfortable. I realize it's not the hotel's fault that other people were noisy. But maybe security could have been more efficient in handling the disruptions.

Marriott Hotel Downtown SJPosted 17-Feb-2014
Pros: The location
Cons: Yes, if they plan to staff accordingly to the number of people staying there at the time, people would be happy.
Location: San Pedro Square is 4 blocks down, and definitely walking distance (1o mins).
I am a fan of all Marriotts. I prefer to book with only big name hotels. However, I was disappointed with this one. I booked for 2/15 for a one night stay. Apparently, there were multiple weddings going on this day, as well as a volleyball tournament next door at the convention center. You would think that by the number of reservations this weekend, they would have planned to staff accordingly. WRONG. My boyfriend and I waited 45 FREAKING minutes to get valet service!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I WASTED?!?!?! We were stuck in the valet traffic for THAT long and when we were finally helped, NO ONE apologized for the wait time. I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! Although the hotel itself was nice and neat, the room was just OKAY. Our sink was clogged, and when it finally drained 20 minutes later, all the leftover residue of my boyfriend's shavings, my face wash, our toothpaste, and much more were left in the bowl. DISGUSTING! As we were getting ready for our night out on the town, we grabbed the ironing board. It plopped right over, because it was broken. Although the hotel itself was nice, and the location was good, I don't know if I would stay here again. Like I said, I've never experienced this at any other Marriott. In my opinion, service and cleanliness is what makes it or breaks it for me at a hotel. This specific Marriott broke it.

Great trip, great hotelPosted 4-Feb-2014
Pros: Nice and clean
Cons: free wifi if possible
Location: trip in monterey
I've stayed in this hotel for two nights, the experience was great. The room is clean, the staff is nice. When you call the service center, they will immediately respond your order. The position of the hotel is great too, walking around in the morning is wonderful thing.

Nice hotel with amazing view but...Posted 4-Feb-2014
Pros: Amazing view and loved the bathroom soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc, smelled really nice and relaxing. Would love to buy some!
Cons: The rooms could be cleaner and ice and soda machine on our floor did not work.
Location: Hotel located right by the SAP Center were concert was playing. Alot of nice restaurants within walking distance.
Never been to any Marriot Hotel and was expecting an above average experience. The view was amazing and the bed comfortable but room was not the cleanest and everything was an additional charge. Very overpriced and would not stay here again.

Nice hotel attached to the comvention centerPosted 3-Feb-2014
When i checked in, my room that i had booked with two double beds was unavailable and i was told there was only a single king bed room available. The problem was, there were two males staying in the room, and we werent sharing a bed. The woman downstairs sent up a roll away bed and waived the fee. I dont think the mix up was the hotels fault, i believe expedia was to blame. Good hotel in the convention center. Parking is $20 a day.

Very Disappointing Marriott Repeat ExperiencePosted 1-Feb-2014
Pros: Location and proximity to lively entertainment/eating district couple blocks north.
Cons: Time for public areas and some rooms to be revamped. Faster WiFi - just how slow can it get in Silicon Valley??
Location: Next to conference center easy walking distance to numerous restaurants withing couple blocks.
My wife and I have stayed at this property previously over the past two years the last time a year ago and we rated it very highly. Unfortunately this trip with our child wasn't a good experience. We had booked and paid for a two bed Concierge room but arriving at the property was told there no two bed rooms were available - despite our pleading and paid reservation - but a Jr. Suite was available with a pull out sofa at the same price. First tip things weren't going to go too well. Walking down the hallway to the room we encountered duct tape (sorry about the dark pic) holding the hall carpet together. Tip #2. Entering the Jr. Suite we found that it was a handicapped room featuring a no-threshold shower with a short shower curtain. Tip #3 this was going to be a unpleasant experience. Showering flooded the entire bathroom floor. Then there was a cheerleading and volleyball tourney in the convention center which packed this property and the neighboring properties with way too many energetic young ladies bouncing around at all hours. Unfortunately since our stay a year ago, outside the lobby the property has significantly 'tired' from wallpaper seams starting to un-glue, banged up and heavily scuffed walls, faded common area carpet. Couple all the above with a less than helpful, uncaring check-in person with the coupe de grace of 2 day uncleaned vomit on the sidewalk next to the drive entrance and we most likely won't return. Behind the property is $7 overnight parking.
