“Would stay again!”
The hotel was nice and the people were amazing. The surrounding neighborhood was a little sketchy but I felt completely safe in my room. The first night we heard a gunfight nearby but we had heard of this when we read the hotel reviews on Expedia. Within walking distance (approx. 5 blocks) there was shopping and a plaza. We had a blast and the employees at the hotel will shuttle you around town and to the airport for free (we tipped of course)!!!!
“Very impressed with cleanliness and availibility of staff”
Not in the best neighborhood in San Jose, but a very well maintained hotel and within walking distance during the day to all the museums and sites of interest and the central market. Take a cab at night. Great pool and restaurant and breakfast included. Would stay again no problem.
“Nice hotel in San Jose”
Excelent experience - we stayed 2 nights. The hotel was better than expected! We were advised by a local person not to walk the streets at night though. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly. Would recommend for a basic stay.
“All good but the neighborhood”
The stay was fine and the staff was helpful. We were advised by multiple people not to walk from the hotel to anywhere at night. It looked like a pretty rough area. Cabs are easily available and reasonably priced.
“Making My Reservations To Return”
The people at your hotel are the most important factor, in my opinion. Best Western San Jose Downtown had the most supurb group of employees. They were efficient, courteous, caring, & very friendly. They made this hotel a place that you were happy to stay. The kitchen staff became your friends, the security staff your protectors, & reception definitely had your back. They are to be commended for their efforts.
“Great place to stay in San Jose,”
I booked this hotel for my son 2 years ago, he loved the location and the hotel itself. This year, my other sons and their father were going to Costa Rica so I booked them also into this hotel, they also loved it. Very clean, safe, perfect location, would stay their again on next trip to San Jose.

“Far exceeded our expectations”
We stayed 10 days in this very clean hotel. The staff makes the difference here. We found them to be so friendly, helpful and fun. What a fantastic trip because of this staff and manager. It is in one of the poorest areas but very safe as they are so accommodating with their shuttle service and of course there are many taxi's. We would highly recommend this hotel because it is so clean and the food is great also. Thanks Best Western !!
“Very helpful staff”
The hotel is not in the best area of San Jose, but we felt very safe when inside at night. The rooms are modest, but all of the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The cafe was great and the continental breakfast was a full breakfast with bacon and eggs if we wanted. It is located near many of the downtown sites and easily walked during daylight hours.

Great Place to stay downtown use taxi if going out at night, walking distance to main walking streets with food and shopping!
