“off the beaten path”
friendly, courteous staff; clean, comfortable rooms; fresh fruit for breakfast; my room had the best view of the valley; food was good or you could go to the little bar across the street for dinner and 2 beers for under $10; *** some people will really like this place, expecially those recuperating from medical or dental procedures just wanting to relax in a nice quiet peaceful place, but if you like the hustle and bustle of the city and want to be where the action is then you might not like it here because there is nothing here up on the side of the mountain. the bus stop is only 200 yards down the hill and only costs 40 cents for a half hour ride to San Jose and runs every half hour. i didn't mind, looked at it as part of the experience but some people will not be satisfied with this. I was!
“Fantastic Hotel, spectacular view of the entire valley cannot be matched!”
This place is amazing!!! My wife and I went to Costa Rica for our Honeymoon and stayed at this fantastic hotel while we were in San Jose. Our initial attraction to "Paradise" was the very reasonable room rate, however when we arrived our expectations were drastically exceeded. Perched on the side of a mountain, overlooking the entire San Jose Valley, the views of this region are out of this world. We highly recommend a room on the main floor with a balcony and a view...it is truly spectacular. The staff were great, and the owners were extremely friendly, kind people that made us feel like we were very welcome. In the interest of fairness, this place is a bit of a trek from downtown attractions, but it was definitely worth it for us. The grounds are beautiful and the small bar on the edge of the mountain is incredible. This was our first time in Costa Rica, but WHEN we come back, we will definitely stay at the Paradise Best Western Escazu while in San Jose.
“very good hotel at an affordable price”
We are extremely satisfied with our stay at this hotel. Hotel staff was so friendly; we did not feel like another customer but as friends. Staff was always willing to go the extra mile to make us feel at home. Even though we had a room with a nice view, we asked for a room with a better view and we got it! Great breakfast every morning (good cooks too) We honestly recommend this hotel. I cannot validate reviews we read before going there stating hotel was hard to find; we rented a car and a GPS and we were there in no time, street conditions were ok. Special thanks to Roy, Jenny, Liliana and don Raul for making our stay special, we would not doubt about staying at this hotel again.
“A best hotel for vacation.”
It's on a mountain top and the view of the whole city below worths a million dollars. The lobby and my room was spotless and shinning clean (just like a five star hotels or better). You can call US and Canada anytime for free. You can also have a hour+ long walk in the nature (hike in the mountain with the owner and his two huge protective dogs - without charge) in the morning. It's a perfect place for vacation (you cannot find a better deal than this in San Jose). Would certainly return to this hotel next time I go to San Jose.
“Extremely Good Service!”
My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Paradise Inn hotel and were very happy with the service and attention from the staff. The hotel has not the best location, far from San Jose and really hard to get there. There is a spectacular view from the dining room. The cook even ask you what you want for breakfast and does it for you. Very nice and friendly staff. Overall if you are looking for a cheap and friendly hotel and don't mind the location, this is a good hotel to stay.
“beautiful, but way up the hill”
The room was spotless, the landscaped grounds were scenic, and both had a million-dollar view of the city of San Jose and country beyond from its vantage point in the hills. For a place this nice, the rate is a steal. However, this is a destination hotel, a long way from the airport, and not best situated for a quick sleepover before an early departure or after a late arrival in the country. If their shuttle is unavailable, a taxi will add expense and time to your itinerary.
“Views!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
If you are comfortable driving in San Jose you can get to this Hotel. Its hard to find the first time so do it in the daytime. Rooms are basic. Ask for a view room the City looks great at night.
“BEAUTIFULL BUT SMALL”
MAYBE THE SUITES ARE MORE BIGGES THAN MY ROOM
“warning if you are driving”
the hotel is great ,the staff is super helpfull and the views are outstanding. but if you are driving the hotel is very difficult to get to since it is on top of a mountain and the roads are not very good,it rains a lot so it becomes dangerous, and there are no street signs in costa rica.
“Was satisfactory. The night we reached there was no desk reception personnel. no fdining f,just a ni”
The suuroundings are beautiful, nice view at night of the city below. Transportation is time consuming to SanJose and to arrange any activity of tours etc. Tom Roy
