Everything was great at this hotel. The only thing I found frustrating was dealing with so many different people for different things, especially the transportation to and from the hotel. We used Expedia's partner, Grayline, and they were very disappointing. Expedia's instruction for our city tour advised that Grayling would pick us up at 8:00. We were there at 8:00 and they have already disappeared. They showed up at 7:30 without advising us of an earlier then scheduled pickup time. Also, they showed up late at our hotel for our return trip to the airport. They were supposed to arrive at 11:30 and showed up at 12:00. WE ALMOST MISSED OUR FLIGHT! Because of this terrible experience with Grayling, we will never again use their services. Recommend Expedia find a more reliable partner.
We arrived late Sunday afternoon to find only the security personnel on site for us.his English was poor my Spanish non existent but we were able to get checked in.upon arriving in our condo realized that this condo had two single beds in the second bedroom instead of the king bed we had reserved.with limited communication available I explained that this condo was not what we had reserved and was not going to do for the week.he nodded and left and I had a sinking feeling about our vacation and the start we were off to.15 minutes later a knock at the door and the security person motioned for us to follow him he showed us a 3 bedroom condo said the price would be the same and asked if we were happy with this condo. The condo was clean ,spacious ,and very well appointed.why do I mention all of this?if the security guard could take care of this for us what problems could we possibly have when the full staff was onsite? The answer to this was none (Lucia)was fabulous took care of our excursions answered all of our questions(patiently)and was extremely polite. The resort is clean well maintained and conveniently located to the main highway.Strongly suggest a rental car as most things (golf, shopping,Cabo San Lucas)are not within walking distance. The wife and I and the other couple marveled at the view from our balcony the quietness of the resort and the relaxed atmosphere of Cabo del sol in general.would rate this an a plus in all aspects.
My girlfriend and I booked our first getaway and were looking for a low-key, well located place to stay. As an architect, design and aesthetics are important to me. We found the Casa Costa Azul to be the perfect blend of incredible location, wonderful staff, beautiful design and quiet privacy. We had an end room with a nice sized balcony overlooking the beach; we literally never closed the blinds and watched the sunrise every morning. Then I would grab my board and walk across the sand to the excellent surf break know as Zippers.
The hotel is family owned and run and we spent a lot of time chatting with one of the owners, Christine and her lovely daughter Georgina. They were welcoming, delightful, engaging and helpful.
"Great small hotel in center of San Jose del Cabo"
We were welcomed with smiles and help with luggage--no elevators but only 3 stories. Our suite had a gently bubbling hot tub and room furnished in traditional Mexican wood furniture and ocean accents. The bath had good toiletries, but an awkward set up with a step down shower, but the vanity was great. Lighting was a bit dim.
But everything else was spectacular. The pool and courtyard setting were serene and visually beautiful, with a water fountain spilling into the pool to mask the sound of the surrounding streets. We ate dinner both nights at Mi Cocina, the restaurant, with excellent flavors and presentation. The chef blends Mexican with contemporary flavors quite well, and we are tough critics on cuisine. Loved the inventive martinis and margaritas.
In all, an excellent start to our vacation in Los Cabos. Right into the vibe, low gear and excellent service.
A/C barely worked, but somewhat cool, thank god for ceiling fan. only one bathroom for public use, thru sushi bar up stairs, with slick tile, made it dicey for people with wet feet from pool area. pool bar busy and only one bartender other bar didnt open till about 3. staff friendly and helpful. peaceful and quiet compared to club solaris where we stayed week before. food good and reasonable price.
Nine miles south of Los Cabos International Airport, San Jose del Cabo offers unparalleled sportfishing, where a day’s catch can include marlin, dorado, and sailfish. San Jose’s beachfront hotel zone on the Sea of Cortés lies a mile from this relaxed town. The historic Misión de San José del Cabo is across from the main plaza, home to art galleries and boutiques selling jewelry and handicrafts.
