“A Pleasant Surprise”
The Fairmont is known as one of the best and most historic hotels in San Francisco. The surprise was its affordability (with the sole exception of French champagne!) and the informality (Genes and suits equally acceptable). Our family had five rooms with some of the best views in the city. The location was great -- walking distance to Chinatown, for example. As expected, the service was outstanding. Also, take time to visit the hotel's gallery of historic photos.
“nice hotel”
pretty good everything except the site of hotel(on the high hill) and expensive overnight parking fee..
“Very Upscale Hotel, Great Price!”
This hotel was very upscale with a great old classic san francisco design. Very classy for a great price (if you wait for one of their deals).
“Fairmont”
Staff was very courteous. Room was great..although on 19th floor. Definitely paid for view. San Fran not very sunny, so only on last day did we see the great views.
“Highly recommended”
It was our first time visting San Fransisco and the friendly and hospitable atmosphere made our stay relaxing and certainly one to remember. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who wishes to visit this amazing and vibrant city.
“Wonderful Experience”
This was a great Hotel! Staff went out of their way to assist you and help you. The hotel is magnificently clean and beautiful. Great location!
“Wonderful stay at The Fairmont San Francisco!”
We knew that the hotel was old with a lot of history. I somewhat anticipated smelling a musty smell like we've encountered at other older hotels. But we encountered nothing of the sort. The hotel was wonderful in every way. The lobby is extremely grand as is the main breakfast/cocktail/dining area. Then there's the terrific Tonga room - a Polynesian style restaurant. We had a great table right next to the central pool where the nightly entertainment plays on a boat pulled to the middle of the pool. As for our room, I had reserved a room with an outside view of Nob Hill. So at check-in, I mentioned that I hoped our room would have a good view. It turned out that they upgraded our room to a floor high in their tower. We had a terrific view of the surrounding area including a view of the bay. The hotel has numerous historical pictures and facts about the hotel on display. For example, the TV show 'Hotel' was based on The Fairmont San Francisco. We had a great time in San Francisco . Staying in The Fairmont San Francisco definitely enhanced our pleasurable experience.
“Amazing Hotel”
A fantastic hotel. The service was exceptional, the view amazing. The rooms were large with a huge walk-in closet. I will return again very soon.
“One of the best!”
Can't go wrong with the Fairmont. A landmark in San Francisco and a tribute to what hotel customer service should be. Was very comfortable there and close to most parts of the city you'd want to go to. Only one slight downside, not too many things included with your room rate. For example: want to work out? $15/day. Want breakfast? $25 - 45, etc. Services that many hotel offer complimentary these days...
“San Fran at its best”
The Fairmount is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. First class across the board. Gotta Love it.
