“Right on the water, lovely walks, big rooms.”
The suite comfortably held four of us -- including two early-20s offspring. The refrigerator and the pot to boil water for tea were very welcome, as was the hot cider in the reception area in the afternoon. Very nice rooms, good breakfast (but it could use a bit more protein -- eggs or yogurt), and easy access to the path for walking around the harbor. We had a great time.
“First time in Half Moon Bay and can't wait to get back!!;”
The Beach House was wonderful, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Any time we asked for directions or suggestions on things to do they always had something to offer. The staff always worked hard to make you fell welcome and was at your beck and call.
“Get an ocean view - totally worth it”
We've stayed here many times, visiting family in HMB, so we know what it's like. Lovely breakfast every am, direct ocean view (no road in the way like others have), comfortable bed, nice space with easy to use fireplace. Walk from the hotel straight out to a nice beach path leading to the cute little Pillar Point harbor. Next door to Sams which is alway a great fallback for meals. Love it!
“get room on the ocean side of the hotel”
The room was like a little apartment. I feel for the immigrant cleaning staff - I wouldn't want to clean hotel rooms after other people. That said, on one particular day during our several day stay the cleaning staff did not close our door all the way - it needed to be pulled closed in order to actually latch, and I would've thought they'd be familiar with the quirks of the building. And on that same day they left the patio door unlocked. An unscrupulous door-checker could've stolen our laptop that day. Also, although my wife was able to ignore the tone generator of the nearby lighthouse (not an old fashioned horn, a tone generator) and sleep, I was not and needed to use the provided ear plugs to sleep. Go in with realistic expectations. But all in all, it was a splendid stay. You can easily print boarding passes at the provided computer hooked to a printer behind the front desk.
“lovely setting and beautiful hotel”
we had an ocean front room, which included a king bed, a pull out queen bed, fireplace, and kitchenette. Bathroom was a very good size also, although the shower was a little narrow. The view from the room was amazing! Breakfast included excellent organic coffee, fresh fruit every morning, and pastries.
“Beautiful Ocean view”
We stayed here in April 2011 and loved it. We had a room on the first floor which I think is best because you get a large patio to sit out on instead of a smaller balcony upstairs. From here you can enjoy a nice view of the ocean and beach. The hotel was very clean and served a nice, basic breakfast with fresh fruit in the lobby. The real fireplaces in the room are a nice touch, especially on those windy days when you need to come back to your room to warm up. From the hotel you can walk down the beach or reach several nice seafood restaurants on foot. Just be aware that the "loft" suites do not have separate bedrooms. The bed area is just up two stairs from the living area which had a pull out sofa for the kids. So, no privacy here but a nice comfy place to stay.

“US 1 delight”
Hotel was very satisfying. Could walk on wide beach on Pacific. There was also a new paved nature walk for cycling, jogging or walking.
“We Wish We were Still There!!”
The hotel was a beautiful cozy hotel with a pool and jacuzzi facing the ocean. It was nice and quiet. The room we had was the "THE BEST EVER!!'' It had everything needed, a fireplace, stereo system, with a kitchenette with all the utincils, pans, sink, coffee maker, a nice size living room with a balcony. The bathroom was amazing and how it was separated with double sinks. For my husband and I it was a perfect hotel, we can't wait to go back but this time we want to go in the SUMMER!!
“great”
I only stayed one night, but great hotel, clean, cozy and friendly staff. If your a runner the costal trail starts just below the hotel and goes for 6-7 miles; great breakfast as well.
