“The palace!”
We had an amazing price through expedia (we usually don't stay in high class hotel) and this stay at the Palace was royal! The hotel restaurant was great and the place itself is just famous!
“A Classic Hotel in the middle of SF”
My girlfriend and I stayed here for only one night, and we loved it. She especially loved the classic decor in our room, and the grand dining room, which is supposedly the most elegant dining room in SF. We will definately be returning to this hotel.
“Palace Hotel”
Hotel is lovely. +Great access to BART & Muni. However, my 9-year old daughter did not like having to walk past the crazies & beggers on Mission st. Pool atrium is great. Free coffee in lobbey in am.
“Hotel splendide”
“My Lovely Palace...”
I felt like I really was in a Palace the minute we stepped into the hotel from New Market street. "Luxe" would be a great word to describe my surroundings. The room was elegant with plush, regal bedding. The modern fixtures, full length mirrors and ammenities in the bathroom were a nice touch. The hotel has a Day Spa to relax at, and fresh coffee in the lobby each morning. The knowledgable concierge identified a some fantastic restaurants within walking distance or a short cab ride. Great overall SF location! And a price that didn't kill a Queen's budget.
“will return”
There was no hassle when I requested to change to a room with an external view - the receptionist arranged a room directly opposite rightaway. The only complaint is the room service telephonist who did not even hear out my request before saying it can't be done - even if it cannot be done, it is courtesy to hear your guest/client out first. Would be good if the hotel is located on Union Square itself, like the Westin.
“Well located”
Palace Hotel is very centrally located and right beside BART station so travel from airport is very easy and reasonable. All staff were very friendly and in particular conscierge were most helpful in helping book great day trip and sort out some flight issues. Japanese Restaurant (part of hotel building) is excellent and very comfortable for solo traveller.
“Great luxury hotel at a low price”
Hotel was clean, spacious and beautiful. Centrally located in a great neighborhood. The staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in took too long. We ended up going to eat and coming back because the line was so long what with a coach load of people coming in. The restaurants in the hotel were a little over-priced, so we opted to eat at one of the many great restaurants a short walk from the hotel instead. There's also a few great cafes on the same block, with great coffee, tea, pastries and sandwiches. One annoying thing was the $8/hr wireless internet charge in the hotel. I wasn't very impressed with that, since it's a higher end hotel. But all in all, it was a good price for the quality of hotel and the area. I'd stay there again.
“Excellent Hotel and Location”
Hotel and location were great. Hotel entrance is directly at the BART station so commute from and to the airport could not be simpler. Rooms were quite large and clean, staff was extremely friendly. Keeping on of the rooms until 3pm on check-out day was not an issue.
