Nicest, most economical hotel in an expensive area

Posted 27-Aug-2014
Cons: Everything is wonderful about this hotel, except that the soap kind of sucks. Bring your own soap and it's all good!
Pacific Inn is slightly off the beaten path if you need accommodations in Silicon Vally, which is typically very expensive. It was very convenient to Palo Alto, right in between San Francisco and San Jose. The rooms are big, the bedding is very comfortable, and everything is very clean - free wifi, wonderful staff (Jasmine at the front desk was super sweet!), they have free nachos, popcorn and cookies at the front desk available at all times - it was an all around great experience! The only advice I have to give here is to bring your own soap! The soap kind of sucks there, but that's minor in comparison to how comfortable everything else was at such an affordable rate. I highly recommend it!

Pros: Price; comfortable bed
Cons: Awful, loud air conditioning unit badly positioned right above the bed.
Decent place to spend the night, and less pricey than similar motels in the area.

You get what you pay for

The breakfast was excellent. The room smelled old. The street noise was somewhat annoying. Facilities are old. Check-in clerk was just putting in her hours.

Visiting Stanford University

This is a great value hotel. We were expecting another cheap motel, but it is rather almost a hotel wwith all the facilities. Ample rooms, great shower-jacuzzi, refrigerator, microwave oven, and the best: cozy beds. You'll find free popcorn, nachos, water and coffee permanently in the lobby. Breakfast is varied and plenty. And all the staff is sweet and helpful. No contras we found

Bathtub

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Pros: empty space and location
Cons: cleaniness
Location: it is pretty close to the highway and the neighborhood nearby seems okay as well
I am surprised by the huge bathtub at the beginning, but there is some unpleasant yellow marks on its edge

Room Review

Posted 11-Aug-2014
Pros: Room was clean. Extras like the popcorn or cheese nachos found in the office each day a definite fun plus.
Cons: Addition of a comfortable reading chair would be the only the one request.
Location: Shopping center across the street. Minutes from Menlo Park's and Palo Alto's more sophisticated shops & eateries.
Room is a good size. Bed was very comfortable. I wish the shower in the handicapped accessible had been wallk in and not step into a tub although there were adequate hand rails for both tub and toilet. Adequate storage for extended stay. A comfortable reading chair would have given this a better rating and there is plenty of room for a chair. Pluses for the refrigerator and microwave for those staying more than a day. Breakfast was OK with enough choices for most anyone. Staff was friendly.

Good for family

Posted 5-Aug-2014
We stay 11 family members on this hotel to go visit San Francisco, Napa and Yosemite. Our trip to Redwood took us so long that the staff call us to make sure we were checkin that night. We arrive very late (almost 12am) and the staff took care of us but with out a smile. But understanding the almost 1am checkin I won't complaint. Rooms were nice and clean a jacuzzi on the bathroom was a plus. The breakfast was ok. Hot egg and sausages (and bacon sometimes) was self served. But the had to wake up early, they don't refill bacon if it's finish. The staff was friendly except the same girl that welcome us that late night when she was either on the breakfast or at the counter, same 'no smile' service. The breakfast room it's small but you can have it out side that are some tables.
