Good value!

Posted 26-Jan-2015
Room was actually significantly quieter than I expected, considering it was right next to El Camino Real which is quite busy. The eggs at breakfast were completely tasteless but, with salsa they were certainly edible. It was very nice that a complete breakfast was provided; it certainly added to the value of the room. I would definitely book there again.

Bed really hard!

Posted 25-Jan-2015
Checkin person okay, not the warmest personality. Facility old, but had some updating done. Our tub was wet and there was a hair on the bottom near the drain. Bed incredibly hard. Clock radio broken, hair dryer broken. Towels thin.

Close to Stanford

Posted 25-Jan-2015
Location: Many places to eat or shop near by. Menlo Park is just down the road. There is a mens club called Hanky Panky right across the street from the hotel.
We stayed at this hotel to be close to Stanford the night before surgery. Many of the hotels in the area are much too expensive for this purpose. They were reasonably priced through Expediia, the room was clean, not super modern by any stretch but I don't that matters. It had all the necessary amenities. Our unit was in the very back corner of the hotel. It was quiet, and large with a full size oven, micro, miini coffee maker and 4 ft or so refrigerator. Jet bathtub in the bathroom. Most important was the beds were not old, they were clean and comfortable. Would use this hotel again.

Needs a facelift

Posted 22-Jan-2015
Pros: The working Jacuzzi tub.
Cons: Soften the lighting!
I have mixed reviews on this hotel. The room was large and had a full size refrigerator and stove. I was surprised that it also had a working Jacuzzi, which was really nice since I was hiking all day. The morning breakfast was OK. The all white light fluorescent bulbs were REALLY harsh and hard on the eyes. They really need to do something about that.

Overall good experience. Cable channel sucked. Loud partying going on upstairs. Internet kept going off. Staff was nice.

Pros: Internet access, once I got on...was very good.
Cons: Lighting, ventilation systems and power plugs in the hotel.
Location: The neighborhood was not great nor conducive to dining locally.
I selected the hotel based on convenience to a Redwood City job. The room was dark. The ventilation system was a standalone unit below the window (ground level by the parking lot) which made so much noise, I slept with it off. The bathroom sink is in the corridor leading from the door to the bed area...strange, but since I was the only one using the room, it worked. The switches for the light and fan for the toilet and tub/shower were on the wall facing the bed. Strange location, but given there were so few switches, not that hard to find. Very few power outlets...at the table serving as a desk, there was ONE switch. On the positive side, the Internet access was both 2.5G and 5G (frequency, not bandwidth), so getting online once I called the front desk for the username/password was good. Being on the ground floor facing the parking lot, I had to contend with headlights from cars pulling in to park, car horns when people checked the lock on their cars, and conversation. I did not try the "free" breakfast due to business obligations. So if you don't mind roughing it and like the short commute...it is reasonable, but not great.
