“perfect place to be in the shopping district.”

Pros: great old architecture, capable staff, clean, close to all shops and after hour liquor stores, fantastic restaurant right next door, afternoon tea or sherry in the lobby! Cons: ice rooms only on floors 9 & 11, don't have a continental breakfast/coffee on location, no A/C

“Highly Recommend”

First time visit to San Fran. I highly recommend the Kensington Park Hotel - rooms a bit small, but clean, comfortable and GREAT bed. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Classy old hotel.

“Location, location, location! Perfectly situated.”

The staff were wonderful in all regards. The hotel was spotless. The bed was comfortable. Every major store was a skip, hop, or jump away. Riding the cable cars that passed right at the corner, was a real San Francisco delight. Highly recommend this hotel.

“Will definitely go back”

Location is excellent, within walking distance to good restaurants and shopping and transit. You can shop and go back to the hotel to drop off or change then go back out again. Room is small but has everything. The bathroom is new, clean, the beds are new and comfortable. No complaints at all. Just like the reviews said, we got on the BART from the airport and got off at Powell station, walked 2 blocks up to the hotel, extremely convenient. Staff were helpful, friendly and gave good recommendations on tours and restaurant choices.

“No complaints - Great Hotel - Great Location”

We stayed a week Sept 20-27 2009 at the Kensington Park Hotel. Great Hotel, no complaints. We booked we arrived at the hotel at noon and was immediately upgraded to a king suite and given access to our room straight away. We were travelling with our 7 year old daughter, they provided us with a rollaway bed, no charge. Each morning her bed was made with her beloved stuffies placed strategically on her pillow and her "can't be without" blanky folded neatly at the foot of her bed. Every afternoon it was a rush for her to get back to the room to see what positions her animals where left in. Highlight of her trip. The hotel is in an awesome location close to cable car, buses and right at Union Square. Couldn't have picked a better place. Staff very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Would go back there any day.

“Unique and comfortable”

The staff of the hotel were very kind and helpful throughout our entire stay. They had great recommendations for local restaurants and events. I particularly enjoyed the complimentary coffee and liqeur service from 4-6pm. The hotel was very comfortable and unique while also having a great central location. I would highly recommend for anyone to stay here.

“We will recomend this Hotel.”

Very happy with this hotel. We were upgraded when we arrived. The staff were really friendly. We had coffee each morning on our floor just 2 doors down. Pretty good coffee too! The hotel is 1/2 a block from Union Square which can't be beat. We would most certainly stay here again and would recommend this hotel to friends and family. We would also consider any of the other hotels that are a part of the personalty hotels.

“Quaint boutique hotel in the heart of Union Square”

This hotel was in the perfect location in Union Square. We walked everywhere, including to Fisherman's Wharf from here. Although there is no restaurant in the hotel, they provide tea & coffee in the morning and sherry in the late afternoon. The hotel was a nice change from the usual chain hotels. There is a theatre right in the hotel which is handy if you plan to see a show. My only complaint was the old, musty smell in our bedroom. We kept the ceiling fan on and it helped get rid of it.

“Ideal location, warm & charming”

This was a perfect choice for a solo woman traveler. The hotel is a 1/2 blk from Union Square (the shopping area), walking to the Powell Street Station for the BART & muni train and in the midst of lots of great restaurants. The room itself was very clean, comfortable and well laid out. Free wi-fi & coffee maker. Great water pressure in the shower, huge bathroom mirror. Lots of storage space in the large closet and plenty of drawers. I always felt safe in the hotel and the surrounding area. Tours will pickup/drop off right at the front door. The staff here are exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. It definitely is top of the class for a 3 star hotel.
