“Elegant hotel near symphony and opera”

Rooms are very small, but adequate, elegant and clean. Very easy walking distance to Opera/Herbst Theater, Davies Symphony Hall. Superb restaurants, art galleries within 2 blocks. Staff friendly and helpful. I felt that this was an excellent value and would recommend this to anyone who would not mind the room sizes.

“Great Find!”

Yes, we would go back! Cute "Inn" at the Opera. Clean and great service. We would have enjoyed a bigger room (which they have-but not available through expedia). Bathrooms were clean and we felt well cared for by the staff. The light breakfast was fine for me but my husband needed a little bit more hardy food (no oatmealor yogurt).

“Great hotel, friendly and very helpful staff.”

although our room was a bit on the small side it was very cozy and as we were out all day it didn't really matter.room was cleaned every day and fresh towels supplied daily. excellent breakfast and friendly and attentive staff. the only downside was the location as very near to south of market street and the tenderloin district.

“Small Room, Great Staff, Good Value Overall”

Just got back from a 4 day stay. The room was even smaller than expected. The queen bed took up probably 3/4 of the room. The bathroom was comparatively spacious. There was a nice but small kitchenette area squeezed in between bed and bath areas. This reminded me of a finely appointed European-style hotel. Despite being small they did packed a lot of "nice to have" type of things into the room (~27" TV, fridge, silverware, coffe maker, etc). Location of Inn was good but not great. It's within a short ~$10 cab ride anywhere downtown, ~4 blocks from a Bart station, ~8 blocks from a cable car line. The entire staff was fantastic...very helpful and friendly. Complimentary breakfast was limited in selection but high in quality. I rated comfort a 3 because of teensy room size and because street noise @ night while trying to sleep was at times bothersome (they give you ear plugs which helps) however overall was a good value all things considered.

“Sleep and eat just steps from the ballet, opera, symphony or concert”

We were delighted to find the Inn at the Opera, the nicest hotel in the area and one of the few, just out the back door of the Opera House, where SF ballet performs, and across the street from the Symphony Hall. Although our rooms have been a bit small, each is equipped with coffee maker, microwave, and frig. The place is quiet, lobby elegant, & staff helpful. Continental breakfast is included and valet parking provided. We like the atmosphere and old-worldliness of the hotel. Ovations, the in-house restaurant is excellent with a nice variety of meal choices, wines and desserts. A small bar and fireplace add to the ambience, and one night we were treated to live music during dinner. This entertainment area is not walking distance from downtown and is lacking in upscale places to stay, and we love to drive in to the city and park and have it all there - lodging, dinner, and the performance.

“Very Nice European Style Hotel”

Very well put together and European feeling down the the Continental breakfast. Good if you are going to the US District Courthouse nearby. However rooms are much smaller than an American hotel.
