“Nice and neat”

The room is a little small but has everything will need, nothing we don't need. Breakfast in the lobby provided plenty of bagles and fruits, coffee and milk so it's quite convinient. The Japanese restaurant across the street is a good place for lunch or dinner.

“I can't wait to go back next time. I will revisit this hotel in my next trip to San Mateo!”

The hotel was super clean, comfortable staying and very quiet at evening. I was amazed how clean the bed sheets and covers were. I normally take mattress plastic cover since I get bug bites all the time very easily and I had never had that problem during my stay even without my plastic cover. I recommend this hotel to everyone! You won't regret it!!!

“Awesome for the price!”

I had a great experience. I typically dont stay at hotels like this (3 star), but heard from a friend about this one and was pleasantly suprised at the cleanliness of the hotel and friendliess of the staff. Continental breakfast was so-so, but for what we paid it was fine. Overall I was happy and didn't mind staying in this 3 star rated hotel vs the 4-5 star I usually book. Definitely would stay again!

“HJ Express - San Mateo -- newly rennovated, will use again”

HJ Express is an older hotel that has been rennovated. A few wood structural items could be replaced, but the rooms have been entirely overhauled. It has a nice new look & feel. For the business traveller, it is adequate. The continental breakfast is nice. The hotel staff are friendly and courteous.

“Beautiful! I will go back and stay again!”

The food, staff, and hotel was amazing, and clean! The views were unreal! This was one of the greatest vacations of my life! I would go back to this hotel and stay again!

“Worth the price, clean and comfortable”

The rooms were clean, staff nice, beds really comfortable, plus the tv was new and a good size with a cable box with plenty of channels, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and iron. The free breakfast was ok, enough to save money eating out till lunch. Clean pool even though too cold outside to swim (april). The location is off the freeway but is a little distance from main SF attractions like pier 39, but the quality of the room and the price is worth the extra 15 minute drive compared if I stayed somewhere else (like the airport rooms more money). Would deffiantly recommend to someone wanting to have a vacation on a budget.

“Good value for money”

* Hotel location is good, not too far from SFO and the city, not too far from Silicon Valley. * Value for price is very good. Very simple, clean rooms. Don't expect anything fancy, but it does the job * Wifi works well most of the time, fast too
