“Great Place!”

The hotel was beautiful and we had a wonderful time! The wine hour in the evening was great and the service was top notch! The location of the hotel was ideal for access to eat, shop etc. We will definitely stay there again when visiting San Francisco.

“Comfy Surroundings - Will definitely stay again”

The Monaco has a complimentary wine service in their living room lounge - very cozy chairs and couches, a fireplace... great time to socialize with fellow travelers. The staff is polite and professional, although the concierge didn't acknowledge my presence until I interrupted her personal phone call with "Excuse me!" several times. Nevertheless, she did provide me w/ coupons on entry fees to local attractions/tours, etc. Be sure to book the airport shuttle through her - you'll save money over booking it yourself.

“Funky luxury at its best!”

My husband and I have become loyal fans of Kimpton hotels, having stayed at several in various cities. The Hotel Monaco in SF is up there with their best -- beautifully designed and kept, and with an unbelievably warm & professional staff. The complimentary wine hour, morning coffee, fireplaces, goldfish (!) and the gorgeous spa are very cool touches. The room size is typical for an urban boutique hotel, so it's on the small side... but the Monaco itself is anything but typical. It was the best part of our stay in SF.

“Favorite hotel in the world...”

I must say, this is my 3rd stay at the hotel over many years and the quality continually improves. The friendly staff who actual look like they enjoy helping you - cannot be overlooked. The coneirge continually helps you find restuarants, calls around for you, arranges everything you need. Based on teh staff size vs. number of guests it is very easy to get great service. The new spa is wonderful and relaxing. The free wine tasting at 5pm every day is of course a big plus. Overall I can't imagine a better location, a more confortable room (canopy bed for sure), or a more helpful staff. If ONLY they would fix (which they claim to be) the televisions so the remotes work correctly (they only work in a 2 feet area of the room) it would be perfect.

“San Francisco Favorite”

I live about an hour away in Sonoma County and love to stay at Hotel Monaco when visiting SF. It's conveniently located close to shopping in Union Square, many great restaurants, theaters, BART, cable cars... The rooms are gorgeous and the service is superb. The Grand Cafe is a great place to dine or relax in the bar and the room service food has everything you might want.

“Excellent Amenities”

The room was small as we expected it to be from reviews of others, but the "living room" on the lobby floor provided us with comfortable sitting space to relax. The fitness center was equiped quite nicely. This was our first experience with a Kimpton Hotel and was very impressed with the service and amenities.

“Fashionable and comfortable hotel”

My teenagers loved the room decor. Very friendly and professional staff. We enjoyed complimentary morning coffee/tea and afternoon hot cocoa in the "public living room". Didn't try the wine tasting, but saw many guests were enjoying. Easy walk to/from BART station and Union Square.

“Definitely why we left our heart in San Francisco!”

Very special place. Location terrific. Bed ultra comfortable and interior design very attractive. For two people, the queen suite and larger is mandatory. Loved having a goldfish in our room. Wine reception every night is lovely. Restaurants terrific. Shower is terrific but gotta say only downside of the whole experience was no bathtub in room....Overall - LOVED IT!

“Best Experience”

We had the best experience, not only did we get our room updated to the Suite but the staff was amazing and so welcoming. They had free happy hour which got all the guests together which was nice and when we would come in for a nap they had popsicles offered to us. They went out of their way to make our experience fun.
