“Fantastic hotel!”

What can I say? Very central hotel perfect to get to anywhere - right on the main cable car line. Very friendly staff on the desk who accomodated us with a quieter room & extra coat hangers & coffee during our stay. The room was a good size with a very nice bathroom - the tv was great & there was coffee every day both in the room & downstairs in the foyer. They had 2 computers available to review emails & also to check in on line for your return flight - there was even a printer to print off your boarding passes! The attached restaurant was also fantastic. Would not hesitate to book this hotel again & would recommend it to everyone - book it!

“Excellent spot to stay in San Fran”

The Hotel Abri is on the same spot as our previous favorite San Fran hotel. It has been renovated and is well situated with all amenities a stone throw away. The Front Office Manager Indy really went out of his way to make our return to the hotel a wonderful experience. He is really keen to ensure people havea wonderful stay. The rooms are good, bathrooms new and the restaurant next door great for all types of meals.

“Great hotel, will definitely come back”

Hotel was great. Staff were amazingly friendly, the rooms nice, the location superb, etc. Only thing that keeps this from being a perfect 5/5 in all aspects is that some of the rooms smell a tiny bit musty (we had several rooms as we were in a group). Open your window for 10 minutes upon arrival and you're good to go. And the suites didn't seem musty at all. And to be fair, most hotels seem like this in SF - the age of the buildings plus the humidity makes it unavoidable, I'd imagine.

“GREAT SanFrancisco experience !!!”

Great Hotel and very friendly staff. Yes i would reccomend this hotel to all. It is located in a great area by many real fancy hotels that would cost you double or even more. Abri was very nice, clean and friendly people !

“Former Monticello Inn Enters 21st Century w/a Vengeance!”

I stayed at this property for business and leisure about 10 times when it was the colonial-themed, VERY laid back Monticello Inn. Well, it's a Larkspur hotel now and apparently serves as the company's hip alternative to its other more traditionally-themed properties in downtown SF. Imagine, if you will, sleek and funky post-modern meets family friendly?!? That's the Abri. And unlike its previous incarnation, virtually EVERYTHING from the decor to the bath products is now ultra top shelf. The place has some kool quirks, too. For example, all male staff dress in black, 3-piece suits but wear white Converse (a la Woody Allen @ the Oscars). And there's a mysterious, silent automatic front door that makes you feel like a JEDI. Only a couple of minor things to consider (didn't matter to us but might to some potential guests): the property is on the fringe of the Tenderloin so expect some street scene; every day or two their "muzak" is loud, non-stop European techno that plays in ALL public areas; the free wine in the afternoon is from a box; in-room WiFi is spotty (but hey it's free and there are 2 computer workstations w/free Internet in the lobby); and it's valet parking only that's expensive even by SF standards. My daughter chose the Abri over a more traditional "pied a terre" European-themed property nearby that I favored. I'll admit I had some reservations (no pun intended:-). But after our stay, this will be our hotel of choice whenever we visit the City.

“Great location, great staff, great service.”

The Hotel Abri is in a great location in San Francisco, right by Union Square and Market Street. There are great restaurants and good shopping in this area. The hotel is also located very close to the cities public transportation such as the cable cars and street cars. The Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful- they gave us a map and offered many restaurant suggestions. Also, they showed us how to get to all the top tourist locations. The hotel room itself was decorated in a modern and chic style. Our room in particular was quite roomy and comfortable. The only thing that was a bit bothersome was that our room was facing the street and at night it got a bit loud (because there is a popular nightclub across the street). It didn't bother me much since I would be out late anyway but if you prefer peace and quite I would recommend that you request a room that isn't facing the street. On the check-out date the hotel staff ordered us a car to the airport which arrived on time and took us to the appropriate airport terminal. Overall, the stay at the Hotel Abri was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone visiting San Francisco.

“A pleasant surprise!”

My only complaint was the room seemed small. But I found out later I could have had a larger room. Very well thought out, excellent amenities, bed one of the most comfortable I have slept in, and room temp was good. Great response from staff, very helpful. Was located at the hub of several activities, walking distance to many of the sites we wanted to see in San Francisco. A really good deal all around.
