“SAN MATEO”
It is Pleasant and Nice Stay .
“Nice clean room”
It is a simple alternative to much more expensive fancy hotels.
“Dirty socks”
The carpet, though not visibly stained," was filthy. Within minutes of walking around with white socks, they were black. The last night I stayed the vertical hold on the TV went out and I could not turn the TV off using the remove or the switch. I called the front desk to ask for assistance and they told me their maintenance guy would not be in until morning. I had to ask them to come to my room to unplug the set because the plug was down behind the dresser and I could not reach it. Luckily I was able to see the end of the NBA final game. :o(
“The staff was attentive to our needs. We were made comfortable as best they could.”
We were given a room which was still occupied even though it was way past checkout time. It wasn't their fault but the staff right away put us in another, bigger room. We thought that was nice. We didn't like the tv though. It was rather old and would make loud buzzing noises while it's on. Perhaps it hasn't been upgraded because people probably don't watch that much tv anyway but still, I think it should work properly when it's on. Nothing fancy, just a working equipment.
“Easter visit”
We got this room for the kitchenette. However, the room was surprisingly small. There was no maid service because we were only there 3 days. If we wanted them to clean the room, change the towels or make the bed, there was an additional charge. No big deal, but good to know. The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. They had a lovely courtyard with a large fountain, benches and a picnic table with BBQ. Nice. Plenty of parking.
“Good for 2 stars, watch for bugs.”
My girlfriend and I needed a place to stay for Maker Faire and this hotel was close and comparably priced. We weren't expecting a 4 or 3 star experience. I am using that as a guide for my ratings and review. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. the courtyard was beautiful and the continental breakfast a wonderful addition. The only places where the experience fell short was in the wait-times at the front desk, especially when our key card failed, and in pest issues. There were 3 foreign gentlemen with limited English who having issues with their payment not going through when my card failed to open the room door after a long day. I had to wait about 10 minutes as there was no other attendant. I'm a patient guy, and in any other situation I wouldn't consider this an issue; heck, I even work in the hotel industry and understand how things get. This particular instance however tried my patience a little too much. Our second night there, we noticed a cockroach about an inch long scurrying about the kitchen area. We had already eaten, so luckily we had no need for the kitchen amenities, but it put us on edge as far as trying keeping an eye out. this unfortunately paid-off the following morning when we found many tiny beetle-like bugs in burrowed in our toothbrushes that had been sitting on the bathroom counter, and had to throw them out. We did not call to change rooms as we were really tired.
“Functional but that's about it”
These rooms were okay, if you're on a business trip and need a place to stay for a few days and need a kitchen during your stay it would be fine. I found the rooms were not very clean, the room didn't smell, but the cupboards were a little dirty and the trash has not been emptied from the bathroom. I brought cleaner with me and cleaned the room. The guy at the front desk told me there would be no maid service so i needed to call the front desk for anything i needed. i saw him later emptying out the trash and i think changing the beds, so they definetly should hire a maid i think that would make a world of difference. There was a nice little courtyard to sit and relax with a fountain which was nice, no pool, though. Overall it was a okay. Mall was nearby, grocery store and a starbucks.
“Good for the price”
Everything was acceptable, weekly cleaning service included with room, so if you are staying less than 7 days, maid service extra. Shampoo available at front desk, which was not realized until first morning in bathroom. Kitchen and refrigerator included.
“Local Hotel”
This hotel is convenient to Foster City but it is not good value for money!
“Oracle”
Don't go during an Oracle convention. You may get kicked out of your room.
