“Surprisingly good!”
I wasn't expecting much from this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, the shower was fantastic, and the room was big. I am a 24 year old woman and I walked back to the hotel after midnight and felt safe. The hotel staff was helpful and available at all hours. I will definitely come back to this hotel.
“SanFrancisco great central hotel”
I was very impressed with the quality of this hotel !! The staff was extremely courteous and efficient. The hotel was very clean, somewhat nostalgic, and nicely centrally located in the city with easy access to public transportation (a definite plus since it is very expensive and difficult to park in San Fran ). There are plenty of restraunts nearby, with a diversified taste interest. I would definitely stay @ this hotel again !!
“Great room near Civic Center”
We were very happy with this well maintained hotel, and would definitely return! Helpful clerks, a lovely room with real art and real furniture, parking on site, and we could walk everywhere we planned--see my local attractions tip. We had a car with us, but didn't use it till next day when we wanted to spend time in North Beach before heading home. If we'd chosen, though, we could have walked from the hotel to the SF MOMA or a longer walk to Union Square. A great location!
“Vintage Weekend Getway from the Country”
We arrived late Friday night to a welcoming smile of the night clerk. The hotel was an older building but had a comfortable feeling. The room was very clean with a huge bed. The bathroom was nice with a big bathtub, nice vintage older feel. It was not a rich hotel, but if you like older building with style. You will like this place. The neighborhood is a little rough, suggest using the Free hotel parking lot.
“Affordable boutique hotel in San Francisco”
Fantastic breakfast! Homemade breads ... mmmm.
“I would defiantly recomend this hotel”
I would defiantly recomend this hotel, espically if you are traveling with a car. Parking in San Francisco is expensive, and The Embassy has free parking. Yeah!!! The hotel is old, but well maintained, and beautiful.
“Old Art Deco Charm”
Charming building and decor. No cheesy art work on the walls, as found in most bargain hotels. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable. The availability of free guest parking in a safe, gated lot is a big plus! The building started out as a residence hotel, and still has some long term guests. But this just adds to an authentic San Francisco experience. While the neighborhood may appear to be a bit rough, it is not hard to navagate safely if you know San Francisco or ask at the desk about making your way around. It is close to major bus routes and also a short taxi ride to just about anywhere a tourist may want to go. This hotel, popular with European tourists, is surprisingly more comfortable than many in town that claim to offer more luxuaries at considerably higher rates.
“Clean, convenient, and comfortable”
