Dining
Caffé Como is named after one of Italy's famous lakes – Lake Como. Lake Como was formed by a glacier and has been a popular retreat for aristocrats and affluent visitors since Roman times. Beloved San Francisco columnist Herb Caen (1916-1997) said this about Lake Como, "The precise location of heaven on earth has never been established but it may be right here".
Caffé Como's tribute and dedication to the tradition of rustic Italian cooking is experienced here; by using the finest ingredients that San Francisco Bay Area has to offer, combined with the traditional Italian recipes and a flare for innovation, Caffé Como is sure to become one of San Francisco most popular restaurants.
Caffé Como features an open kitchen, light inviting décor in an intimate and casually elegant dining area. Not commonly found in San Francisco is our poolside alfresco dining; experience one of the only restaurants in the area offering a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner

“Pleasantly Surprised”
I wanted to write this review because I rely on others reviews when selecting hotels. I did read where the hotel had changed hands, was under renovation and had no air conditioning. Consistent positive comments included excellent service, comfortable beds, and very clean. Because of the great location and reasonable rates (considering the price of other hotels located near), my husband and I decided to try the DaVinci Villa. I would agree with all the positive comments about cleanliness, great service, and comfortable beds. I'm glad I knew that things were under construction--they are making great upgrades and changes. We were fortunate enough to witness an artist painting a mural in the dining room while eating breakfast one morning. If there was a con it would be the size of the bathroom. An additional vanity outside the bathroom would be a great addition. There was always a nice breeze into our room so the temperature wasn't a problem; however, the street is a bit noisy. The view of the Golden Gate bridge outweighed this inconvenience. Overall, it was a great choice for us!
“Great experience”
Staff very accomadating, cafe como a nice touch for easy and close dining. food was excellent and also service.
“Overnight in SF.”
Nice price and nice hotel. Everything looked like it had been newly remodeled. Good location.
“Perfect!!”
I will definitely recommend this hotel!! Everything is perfect for travelers.
“friendly”
Great location and family freindly. Clean rooms great service, Iwould recommend to any families with kids.
“I recommend DaVinci Hotel.”
Given that this hotel is in renovation, I would say it was excellent. I didn't use their parking facilities, I parked in the area which saved me a lot of money. Maybe the staff can give directions as to where to park and avoid paying the fee. The complimentary breakfast was good. I can't wait to return and use the swimming pool. Good work Da Vinci!
“Can't go wrong here.”
Clean, affordable considering the location. Our room had a superb view of the Golden Gate, Marina district. Clean, wonder bathroom, complimentary bath robes. I'll stay there again.
“Great Place to stay!”
I read some horror stories on yelp about this hotel and I must say that they were all WRONG. Granted, this is not the Ritz however; I thought the hotel looked very nice, the beds were very comfortable and the staff was was top notch. Anytime we needed a thing, it was taken care of asap. I would recommended this hotel to anyone!
“Could Not Ask For Better”
We will book there again. Great location, good view of the Golden Gate from the 5th floor.
“Would Recommend To Any/All and Would Stay Again”
Not the fanciest hotel, but for the price, you can't beat the location, the service, or the quality. The staff was helpful, the continental breakfast was better than expected, and the view of the Golden Gate Bridge was a great perk. The only complaint would be the slow elevator, but given the age of the building, it wasn't a complete surprise nor was it a dealbreaker. It was too chilly to enjoy the pool, but it looked clean and inviting. The Fisherman's Wharf is a just a few (flat) blocks away and the proximity to Polk St. (various dining) and Union Street (boutique shopping and dining) was great. And if you can handle a short uphill climb, you are just a few blocks from "the crookedest street" on Lombard. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
