“Pleasantly surprised”
After reading the not so great reviews I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. The room was pleasing to the eye, with fun colors and designs. Also, the sheets smelled freshly laundered. I would stay there again!
“"Eight great days at San Franciscos Best Western Americania Hotel"”
On arrival at the Hotel,the reception desk was well staffed,with a friendly, efficient and courteous greeting from all on duty.The reception area was like stepping into a Liechstenstein work of art(together with a print of said artist hanging on the wall)Just exactly to the taste of my wife and myself! In a comfortable and clean lounge area there is access to two computers which made online checking in for return journeys back home very convenient. As has been mentioned in other reviews,the Hotel was very clean,as was our room (the maids are in daily from morning till night) I had read in another review that the walls are paper thin,but did not find this to be true at all! We heard nothing from the rooms either side in eight days stay at the Hotel! All in all our stay at the Best Western Americania was everything we expected, and more for a 3 star rated Hotel.and would be more than happy to stay there again..
“Best bargain in SF”
I've been staying at the Best Western Americania for years. I believe it to be the best bargain in SF comparing price to quality of facilities. The only detraction is the lack of quality of the immediate neighborhood. However, I don't think it is anything more than unsightly inebriate street people. They've never hassled me. In fact, I think that it's location is why the price is so good: People mis-percieve it to be a somewhat risky neighborhood. It is not. Just a bit seedy. It's one a block walk to BART and Metro. Five minutes from Union Square. 8 minutes from SFMOMA. Perfect! Don't let the neightborhood (just one block deep) keep you from a very good hotel and probably the best bargain in town.
“hotel tres moderne , tres propre , acceuil sympa”
hotel aseez bien placé , a 100 metres de Market street ,ou passent tous les transports en commun, la quartier n'est pas top la nuit ,beaucoup de sdf , mais l'hotel lui meme est super avec un wifi gratuit qui marche tres bien , chambres trés agréables ,la cuisine proposée sur place tres américaine ne nous a pas inspiré ,donc nous n'avons pas gouté....
“Satisfied”
As a family, we enjoyed having the "suite-type" rooms- 2 adjoining rooms. It allowed for more room space and privacy than we expected. Good location to access public transportation. Walking distance to grocery and department stores & restaurants. Would have liked to have at least a continental breakfast with room.
“Very hip.”
Newly renovated and maodern...unlike any Best Western I've stayed in and the staff were cool not snobby like most in San Franciso. The location is a little dodgy, in my case I was on foot, but if you have a car your fine.
“Great location”
We had the two room suite, which was enormous. The sauna is private, clean and a real luxury. Hotel is near museums and shopping. But beware, the neighborhood is teeming with homeless people, which is sad. All in all, we were very happy with this hotel.
“Retro feel”
Good hotel location, very close to Moscone. A bit of a walk to time square and passed some shady characters on the way back at midnight. Cool retro feel and decor. Helpful staff with directions and taxi. Comfy beds. Very quiet for San Francisco. Slept well.

Staff was always accommodating and cheerful. Room was clean, with comfortable beds. Great location for Moscone Center. Neighborhood on the gritty side at night, but not a problem. I would stay here again.
