Customer service is awful. No one picks up the phone when you call. At check in, the person at the desk was busy dealing with a customer while the incoming person for the next shift did not even offer help, just listened and watched while there were 3 other people in line to check in (around 11pm). This oncoming person cannot provide extra washcloth/towel when asked, only provided 1 washcloth in a room of 3 people. When asked for additional key card, she gave us another 1 BUT inactivated the other 1 provided, when asked to reactivate the 1st key card , then the 2nd one she just gave was inactivated. Does she even know what she's doing??? Charged too much for a very poor service. Website says pet fee $25.00 per stay, we were charged $25 per pet per stay. Really? Need to re phrase what is written in their website.
Before check in i had dome worries after reading comments made on the internet made previously.
But what a pleasant surprise..it seems that the room was refurbished and everything seemed new including bed sheets.
The bathroom new and clean, the water is always hot, the room is big and in the kitchen there was a large fridge.. not one of those small annoying fridges.. and there was enough cabinets to fit large supplies.
AS someone with Hospitality background i could find few minor things that was not to scratch but one needs to consider this is not a 5 star establishments .
I had a pleasant 6 days stay and I have nothing to complain about.
Upon checking the staff was very friendly and quick! The rooms were very clean and neat, The bed was very comfortable. Overall I enjoyed my stay except for the fact that the air conditioning was on high and my room is still very very hot I slept with no covers on and it was uncomfortable with the temperature in the room.
The new owners have done a nice job of keeping the place clean & up to date. All the staff was very friendly to us. The room was nice but next the time I stay here I would make sure our room door not a an adjoining door to the room next door. Every morning we heard the people next door & I am sure they could hear us.
Up on the 3rd floor in the ice machine room the out side door is left open to help keep the room cool, I would hope at some point this safety issue will be corrected.
I personally think the $34.00 parking a night charge plus the CA 12% tax for your vehicle was a little high. I do not spend this much for car stay in New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, etc...
For taking a chance on the Hotel Amarano, we were glad we pick this hotel over the big chain hotels.
Simply known as “The Valley,” this sprawling area includes the suburbs of Encino, Northridge, and Van Nuys. But Burbank is the key attraction, as several movie and TV studios are based here. Universal Studios’ theme park combines tourism with the local craft. Griffith Park provides much needed green in a city known for its smog. Nearby, the Burbank airport is an alternative to LAX.
