“We loved it!!”

I was amazed at how clean the hotel was. I am a stickler for that and so I noticed it right away. We took the elevator directly from where we parked our car in the garage to our floor...no having to walk through the lobby. We stayed in the two bedroom with a full kitchen. So amazing for our family of five. The walk across the street to the beach and pier was such a fun addition. We cannot wait to come back!! There were two things that caught us by surprise: 1) We were briefly approached to attend a meeting on 'how we could buy into the timeshare'. I say 'briefly' because it was really not annoying as they didn't pester us with it and 2) We didn't realize the hotel was less than 50 yards from train tracks. However, for us the trains were not annoying because my boys LOVE trains and we were able to sleep just fine.

“Best in Oceanside-but be aware”

Expedia advertised this location as 1 bdrm condo near ocean. When we went to check in, front desk wanted to give us a regular hotel room. After we gave the front desk a copy of Expedia's ad, they gave us an amazing 1 bdrm w/kitchen, washer/dryer, livingroom, full kitchen, etc. Location of facility was outstanding. Across from beach and pier, in the middle of everything cool in Oceanside. I doubt we will ever be able to replicate this vacation, so we're looking to buy in the area.

“Nice hotel, didn't care for location”

I thought this hotel was great, the staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. However, I wouldn't recommended it to friends. I didn't care for the location. Yes, you are on the beach so that is convenient, but the surrounding area was a bit dodgey in my opinion. There weren't many places I felt comfortable going to by myself, especially in the evening. That's fine...I'm not much of a partier. Anyway....the one thing I will point out is you can't underestimate the train noise. If you are facing the ocean, you might not notice it. But if you are facing the tracks, the train will run starting very early and into late at night at regular intervals. Not just the commuter train, but amtrak as well. It is noisy.....people who say it isn't are simply crazy. If you have kids....check because I don't think the pool amenities allowed kids...I could be wrong.

“NIce hotel”

The Wyndham is a beautiful Hotel, but the surrounding are is not so pleasant. The room is clean & decorated nicely.

“Great Place!!”

I feel this was the best place to stay in the entire area. Close enough to walk to places and get something to eat. Also very close to the beach. Everyone was very friendly and courtious. The train was a little loud, but you get over that quickly. Thanks!

“Very New and Nice But Needs some experience”

We stayed 2 nites and it was very new and nice but it seemed as if the staff was still learning how to do their jobs. We had an Eastern exposure room(away from the ocean) and had a window without dark shades allowing sun to come in. Also was hard to use the patio deck as Amtrak and other trains were a block away and ran quite often. The location was GREAT right next to ocean and pier, but had to drive a few miles to 5 nice resturants. Nice underground parking,rec. room and outdoor pool.

“Great except for one thing.”

This is an incredible hotel/resort. You are literally steps from the ocean. It is new, modern, and comfortable. We only had one problem, my husband's flight came in late and I tried to check into the hotel at 4pm without him. Since I made the reservation in his name and even though I had my ID, the credit card reservation was made in, etc, the jerk of a manager made me wait 4 hours to check in until my husband's flight arrived! For this fancy of a hotel, I couldn't believe the unprofessional manner of the manager. The rest of the hotel staff were wonderful though. This manager needs to learn what "customer service" really is!

“Food”

A cafe that would serve bacon and eggs, and a good menu for lunch and dinner, would be a real plus for people that would like to stay at the hotel and eat.
