“the best hotel/resort ever”
I really like the place really enjoyable, right place to get rest, take a vacation
“It's Lawrence Welk”
This is a resort named after Lawrence Welk so it has a lot of older white people. Who puts twin beds in a 1 bedroom villa? This is back in the olden days when they slept in separate beds. Get real. We got locked out of our villa twice and had to wait 20 minutes then over 30 minutes the second time. Ended up sleeping at another hotel because the lights went out. Highly recommend Springhill Suites.
“Great weekend get away”
We stayed just two nights, but it was a nice place. Timeshare facility with a full kitchen, nice amenities. We enjoyed the farmers market and the quiet location. The king size bed was a little hard, but overall it was a relaxing fun visit. Would come back again.
“Resort explains it all, can't wait to go back”
We loved this place!! They have activities throughout the day for kids and adults (my kids loved spa day where they got to make their own bath scrubs, etc). The pools were amazing, especially with the fun slides and food. We LOVED the rec rooms where we could play ping pong, fooz ball, Wii, pool. etc. The ONLY negative was check in time is 4pm and check out is 10am, so only staying 1 night we really missed out on A LOT ....not happy about that with how much we paid, but definitely loved the place!! The room is amazing too with a kitchen!!
“overcrowded, no poolside service, food is mediocre”
We live in San Diego and wanted to just get away to a local resort, were attracted to the Welk Resort because of the waterslides that are advertised. The pool is overcrowded, it seems like people who are not staying at the hotel are at the pool... I don't know if they have the security measures properly in place to ensure it is guests only at the pool, the door was wide open and there were several cars parked on the street outside of the hotel. No poolside drink service, so I would not consider this a "resort" atmosphere. The pool was shallow and the waterslide was small, nothing to write home about. The restaurant for which we received the "kids eat free" coupons was terrible, from the slow service to the poor quality of the food. We had an issue with our TV, called maintenance and were told it woudl be 20 minutes but the guy didn't show up for almost 2 hours, by then we were ready for bed and didn't get to watch our DVD. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, even to my 10 year old. Very thin mattress and blankets on the sofa bed. The king bed was comfortable though. Also, there was NO WIRELESS service available, couldn't get a signal the entire stay on either my phone or computer.
“cant wait to go back with more family members”
Something for every one ....pools, waterslides ,casino night ,family scavenger hunt, pool tables ,ping pong , etc...can't wait to go back!
“uncomfotable sofabed”
their sofabed was terrible, I have backache after this trip. other than that, all other facilities and pools are excellant
“Lovely, to far away”
Great property and spacious room. Front desk very nice and helpful. We knew booking this resort that is far from the site in San Diego, but include the amount of traffic and was a bit much traveling to and from everyday
“No hot water no apologies”
We have stayed here before and were happy but not this time. Checked in and there was a half empty water bottle in bedroom. Hair and something that looked like blood on bedsheets. Clearly not vacuumed and the shower door handle was on the counter. Front desk said they would move is to a 2 bedroom for our trouble of having to move but got to new room and it was one bedroom. That night there was no hot water to take a shower. They said they would check on it and never got back to us. Didn't apologize until after we went to front desk to complain the next morning for no one getting back to us. Did nothing to try to make us happy. For the price, we should be able to expect a cleaned room at check in and at any price we should expect hot water for a shower. However the hotel decides to respond to this review, really nothing was done to try to make up for not having hot water! Just an apology which was probably to keep us from going back to the front desk while people were checking in. If you like cold showers this is the hotel for you. Read reviews on all travel sites before booking this hotel. I wish we had.
“Beautiful hotel - poor service”
The hotel itself is beautiful. The service was not good.
