“it's becomming wotser”
I was very disappointed to get room with 1 queen bed instead of 2 double for 4 person with explanation that they don't have 2 double available. It was my first experience to get refuse to provide reserved room. Compare to the previous visit, now they don't have coffeemaker in the room, and we like to have tea and coffee few times a day.
“In the middle of nowhere... but a perfect getaway”
I traveled from the East Coast (Maryland) with my dad and brother to see my sister who is staying down the street. I wanted something close knowing that we really weren't spending a lot of time at the ranch. The hotsprings were amazing which I didn't know were there when I made the reservation. The ranch takes you back in time and if you're an outdoors kind of person, this is the place for you. It could use a little updating, but the rustic feel was nice. All the meals we ate at the ranch were very good as well, being that there's nothing else close. It's in the middle of nowhere, but very relaxing and beautiful! I would definately stay there again.
“good weekend getaway”
If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful, and remote place to forget about your cares and woes and relax a bit, then this is the place for you! The hot and cool pools were great at the pool area. Lot's of towels and just a serene soak in the hot pool. My husband even chilled out and relaxed- that's an outstanding achievement! We will return and maybe try horseback riding.
“NEVER AGAIN”
Took a 1-1/2 hour drive to an area where there was nothing around but cows to only be turned away because the pet friedly room we requeted was no longer available.
“rude and impolite ee at front desk”
I reserved one room with 2 queen bed and sun room but I recieved one bed. they said , they called expedia and told them we don't have. When I asked them to give me something in writting , they refused. They were very rude and unprofessional.
“Want to see some improvements”
I love the hot springs, but the hotel need a major renovation including dining options.
“Worth staying”
The hotel is a bit old but the ammenities and location are great.
“Very Disappointed Anniversary Stay”
Anniversary get away gone bad. I planned a special get away for our 16th anniversary. When we got the the resort we were all exited to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We checked in late about 9 pm. There were no outside lighting and it was very dark. The evening was cold and the heater would not warm the room. The bed very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom mat had black mold on it and there was pink mold on the shower curtain. We could not get out of there fast enough. We did not bother to stay for the hot springs or any other amenities which we were still charged for. Checking out the person at the desk could not get us any discount or relief on charges. I was trying to plan something special and it was a total train wreck. I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone else. I knew it was older but there is a real difference between rustic and dilapidated.
“Tough Times”
While we love the Warner Springs area, the cottages are in pretty sad shape due to 1) pending sale to the Pala Indian tribe of the entire property, including golf course and 2) a seeming lack of good management...maybe mostly marketing. I would not go back there because the beds...we even changed rooms, asking for better beds...were simply worn out and very uncomfortable. The staff really tries to be helpful. The lodge, lounge and pools are in pretty good shape. The wife got a massage she described as "incredible" (she is used to very good ones.) We ate in the cantina, as the dining room was empty, and the staff was terrific. Go for the area, visit Anza-Borrego State Park or Julian if you can, enjoy the quiet, go for long walks, go horseback riding, soak in the huge hot springs fed pool, swim in the heated pool, etc, etc. Go before the sale is done or it's gone. The tribe, of course, is making it into a gambling resort. What a shame.
“Love It”
Absolutely Wonderful. I adore it there. Friendly staff, beautiful all around. I really really can't wait to go back. The hot springs were just perfect.
