“Comfortable Stay in Chula Vista”

It was so tough finding a room near San Diego due to Comic Con weekend. I had just dropped off my brother at the convention center and needed to find a place where I could catch up on some rest, hang out, and watch TV or eat while he geeked it up. Tried National City but all rooms were well over 200 bucks for that Saturday. Tried my luck by searching for a room in Chula Vista and Vagabond Inn was the nearest and most affordable considering it was a Saturday as well as an event weekend. Booked the room using my cell phone. Big UPS to Expedia for having a mobile site. As soon as I booked the room and got my confirmation email, I drove over there and it was super easy to find. The neighborhood has tons of eateries and isn't far from 2 starbucks locations as well as a mall. Got into my room right away. Arrived before checkin time, but they had a room ready and let me settle right into it. Smelled fresh, was clean, and had a mini fridge AND microwave. I comfortably watched TV, took two naps, read the newspaper, and went out for some Taco Bell and coffee. What a great stay. I had to check out early so as to drive back to LA, but it would have been great to stay the night. The other patrons were mostly families with children and they were having a great time in the pool area. Good environment. Not sleazy at all.

“Definetely staying here again”

The only thing I can complain about is the front desk clerk service because they weren't friendly at all. Everything else was great though, it was clean , comfortable , spacious and the room service was good too.

“nice place to stay”

The vagabond rooms were clean, beds comfortable, area was nice . I saw people walking the streets at night without having to llok over the shoulder. I was closet to the street and could not hear traffic with door close and when open it was still quite. Easy to get to off I5 10 minutes to down town San Diego and the USSS Midway. beaches were close by. The only thing wrong was the breakfast snacks and coffee were not ready till after 7am. There are some good resteraunts close by olive Garden is 5 minutes ; good food and prices very open and bright. Some rooms like my friends had a small frig and microwave.

“Good location and quality for less money!!!”

Good location of the hotel is the most important thing for me - exactly 10 min from Downtown and 10 min from the border. Nice and safe area, a huge parking lot, swimming pool and jacuzzi... I was kinda disappointed of room service but anyway I enjoyed my stay there and totally honest I can reccomend you this hotel for your short-term stay in San Diego!

“Cleaning staff is FANTASTIC!!!”

It was a 2 star hotel. But VERY clean. The cleaning staff was fantastic! The only negative things are... There was no hair dryer. It has been YEARS since I have not found a hair dryer at a hotel. And the ' breakfast' was just sweet rolls, good ones but no fruit or anything. ( there was juice and coffee) I would stay there again ( and bring my own dryer)

“Ok Stay”

This hotel was in a good location because it was close to San Diego and Tiajuana. The hotel was newly remodeled inside, the bathroom was nice except the shower head should have been replaced, because the pressure/concentration wasn't very good, had to take a longer shower to get soap off. The grounds of the hotel was nice. When I first got to the hotel and got my key for the room (which was regular key not a card key like most places) and saw the doors of the hotel I thought the place was going to be bad, but was pleasantly surprised. All in all it was a good 4 night stay. I would stay at this hotel again.
