“needs improvement”

We were there in early December 2011. Have stayed in other Travelodges around North America but this was the worst we have been in so far. This is an older hotel, not well kept. We needed some extra hangars and the reply was "Oh, we don't have any extra hangars." The second day we ran out of toilet paper (there were no extra rolls in the room) and I had to go ask for it. There is no area to sit and eat breakfast. A few benches outside but no tables. Front desk closes at 11:00 PM. We won't go back there again.

“Great Value!”

Our room and bathroom was very clean and the front desk staff was accommodating. Breakfast was just pastries, fruit, and cereal. The room was small but comfortable. Overall, the room was a great value and we highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a no-frills place to stay in La Jolla.

“La Jolla's hidden value”

Great location in La Jolla. Bathroom small, but we've traveled in Europe so this wasn't an issue besides it was clean. Shower needs a little perking up. We usually stay at Hampton Inns, and this wasn't quite up to their standards, but the value was good for the area. Housekeeping was very good. Staff was most helpful with directions & answering questions. I needed a small bandaid. My husband went to the office and came back with four. Coffee maker and small refrigerator in room was a nice benefit. We stayed in a room upstairs so it was quiet. Air conditioning worked well if not a little noisy, but most are in motels. They have a "continental" breakfast each morning which didn't look all that great, but we did not participate so can't really judge. We would stay there again.

“Clean, quiet, well located budget hotel”

I chose this property because it was the best priced situation I found in La Jolla and is located a two block walk from Wind and Sea Beach. Reviews seemed to indicate it was clean, which it was totally. . I requested a "quiet room" (Expedia did NOT transmit my request, but I called the property a day ahead) on the upper floor and got a corner a little removed from the parking areas. The cleaning crew does begin early and noisily. But after 9 or 10 at night, all was quiet. The room had all the advertised amenities. Bed was comfortable. For a budget motel, this had everything. I f and when I return to La Jolla, I will stay here.
