A great choice in downtown San Diego!

Posted 9-Jan-2015
Pros: The staff, the room
Cons: make sure the room is really clean including the bathroom. let guests know about other parking options or lower your valet fee.
Location: within steps to Horton Plaza, Gaslamp, Petco park, the trolly.
First of all, do not valet park! I believe they charge $40 per night and there is no choice for self park. If you do a 5 min search on your phone you can find garages downtown for half what they charge. The staff and the room facilities are wonderful! No complaints. My bathroom wasn't the cleanest but after a few flushes it was cleaner then when I arrived. The shower was wonderful, the bed was great and we had a sliding glass door that opened to a shard large open terrace. The hotel was pretty empty so it was a nice start to the morning w my cup of coffee. I had a early morning appointment so no time for breakfast. I ordered room service. A small pot of coffee, creamer, 2 eggs over easy, a hash brown, bacon and toast: $30! The food was good but cold. Disappointing! Overall I would stay again. They offered me a late check out since it was a quiet week which was very nice. Another plus too is I didn't hear hallway doors slamming all night and morning. I'm not sure if thats due to the level of business in the hotel or if they are smart enough to have doors with a slower, quieter hinge. I'm not sure why every hotel doesn't have doors that close silently. Its one of my biggest pet peeves. I also didn't hear people walking above me. That's something else that drive me crazy. One more thing, if you need breakfast in the morning, walk about 50 feet from the hotel and Panera bread is right across the street and they open @5am. There are also a few diners that open early or are 24/7.

好立地!

Posted 7-Jan-2015

Very centric hotel

Posted 5-Jan-2015
Two only faults, the beds should be a little bigger (queen size) and the pipes of the bathroom sound very loud that could wake you up when your neighbor take a bath. Otherwise the hotel was very good.

very good location, just walking distance to mall and gaslamp. good size rooms.staff were accomodating, they took care of our concerns right away. $40/ day valet park is expensive but worth it.

Great location in the Gaslamp Quarter

Posted 1-Jan-2015
Location: Tons of fabulous restaurants and nightlife within walking distance.
Nice hotel, staff was helpful. Only knock I had is that the parking (only valet) offered by the hotel is $40 per day. They allow you to come and go as you like, but it's very expensive. We found parking around the corner that was $25 on weekdays, $20 on Saturday/Sunday, they don't allow you to come and go. This wasn't a problem for us because once we left for the day, we were gone all day. The room was nice and the beds comfortable. The pool was closed for renovation, which wasn't a problem since it was too chilly to swim when we were there. We didn't eat at the hotel since there were so many wonderful options within walking distance from the hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter. There is also an outdoor mall located just a short walk away with a CVS, movie theater and many stores to wander through.

Late Night

Posted 29-Dec-2014
Pros: Heavenly beds...fantastic black out curtains.
Location: San Diego. Need I say more?
Stayed here to go to a football game, the Holiday Bowl. On our way to the game I asked the bartender how late the bar was open along with the kitchen and was told 12:30. The game ended after 10:00pm and with crowds and trolley lines we got back to the hotel about 11:45 and they had closed the bar. Disappointing to say the least. Other than that....great place good location.
