We had a great stay at the Westin San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. It was in a great location for our weekend getaway. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Trip to see the San Diego Padres & a birthday

Posted 1-Jun-2015
Pros: Location was pretty central to the Gaslamp. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. Shower head and detachable option great. Nice soft towels.
Cons: The website stated free WiFi. Not in the room. It was $14.99/day unless you went to the lobby where it was free. I travel a lot so this was unexpected
Location: Walking distance to Gaslamp so restaurants, bars and shops all walking distance. Quick uber to Petco or the embarcadero but further away than planned.
I went with a friend to celebrate a birthday and see the Padres play. We got a standard room with 2 double beds. The room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Linens bright white and nice. Bathroom updated and modern. Shower was great. Towels were super soft and also bright white. Room had a window with a decent view of the area. The location was central within the Gaslamp so you could walk to all the restaurants, bars, clubs and shops in the Gaslamp. We went to see the Padres play and it was a little further to Petco than I anticipated so we took a cheap uber there so that was fine. A long walk down to the embarcadero but we are runners/walkers so this was ok for us but if you aren't into this I suggest an uber down there too. Worth the trip to walk along the water and see the sights down there. Next time I will probably get a hotel closer to Petco but this hotel and room were nice if you are coming to the Gaslamp.

Great Location

Posted 31-May-2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: Parking price. A concierge who is a people person and knows the town well enough to advise travelers and responds with common courtesy .
Location: Visit the Gas Lamp District. Take a drive to the zoo. Walk in Balboa Park.Go to Sea World. Visit Old Town a short drive away.
Hotel is located in the tourist area of town: The Gas Lamp District. Practically a skip and a jump from shopping mall, restaurants and near beach. Staff, in general was helpful except for the concierge who didn't seem interested in giving any assistance whatsoever claiming to be English. I wonder was she was doing at the concierge desk? or working at the hotel all together. Cleanliness was top notch. Lovely lobby. The only thing is their valet parking was excessively expensive. Overall we enjoyed our stay and liked the hotel and its location very much.

Beautiful hotel in the city

Posted 29-May-2015
Pros: Our room was super comfortable with a wonderful view and a fantastic shower.
Cons: The coffee was terrible! I thought it was ridiculous to have to pay $13 extra for internet. That should have been part of the services.
Location: It was in the Gas Lamp District of San Diego. There are many fantastic restaurants & theaters. It's a short drive to Coronado, SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo
We stayed here for our 29th wedding anniversary. They upgraded us to one with a view when they found out why we were there. The staff were all very nice and quite helpful. We were walking distance to many nice restaurants and city sights. A short drive to many other wonderful San Diego sights. The only negatives were the coffee was terrible and I thought it ridiculous to be charged $13 for internet. The bathroom was luxurious a fantastic shower.
