“Beautiful Hotel! Great Service!”

I would recommend the US Grant Hotel! The Hotel is Beautiful and the Service was Great! We did have a couple issues the first night, we had a beautiful room on the 7th floor, but the air conditioner and the street noise was a bit to loud. We did complain and the women at the front desk was very accomodating and we were given an upgraded room on the 11th floor. Which was also a beautiful room and had no noise issues with it. One other thing is we had a rental car and it is valet parking only at the hotel and it was $32.00 per day + tips to park there so keep that in mind if you have a car. It is real close to the airport, shopping and is right in the middle of the Gaslight district lots of restaurants and clubs. We would recommed it for sure!

“Great Older remodeled Hotel in perfect Downtown location.”

Thank goodness for the US Grant hotel. During our recent stay, my partner became ill, day 1 of our five day visit in San Diego. Fortunatly, we had the comforts of the hotel to offset this. Room service was excellent as was the food. Of course a bit pricey (Breakfast for two was $70). Our incidentals bill came to about $400.00, but we were stuck inside for 5 days! The bed was comfortable, great TV and movies selection, and the bathroom was luxurious and spacious. The fitness room was perfect: free weights and threadmills with cable TV monitors. The hotel staff was exceptional. Only one minor incident: one cleaning lady threw away some of our magazines when she came to clean. Hide anything away you don't want thrown out! The Gaslamp district is just across the street and great shopping is across the way at the Horton Plaza (Macy's, Nordstrom's). I also recommend eating at Cafe 222 about 5 blocks south on 222 Island street. Great waffles. I had to walk it off and found myself in the middle of Petco Field, home of the Padres. The valets were very professional and courteous. We never had to open our own doors!

“Reason to be part of the Luxury Collection of Hotels”

Although the room was not big,the appointments more than made up for it. Crisp linens, lovely bathroom, turn-down service including a small floormat placed next to the bed and dimmable lights. Location was perfect - across the street from Horton Plaza and a short walk to numerous great restaurants. Courteous, not condescending, service and attention from all staff. Missed not having a floor-length mirror.

“GREAT HOTEL AT BEST LOCATION IN TOWN”

We spend 5 nights in early Januari in this very nice hotel...we booked the Legacy Suite at attractive expedia rate...it is very worthwile to get this bigger room very separate seating area. You want to make sure though to get a room on one of the higher floors in the back of the hotel....the hotel is sided by two busy streets and I am sure that traffic noise can be annoying there. Restaurant, concierge, valet services are all very good. Location must be the best in town ..next to the Gaslamp district with hundreds of bars and restaurants and in front of the entrance of the big Westfield / Horton Plaza mall (from Nordstrom/ Macy's to Louis Vuiton).

“My new 'favorite' hotel :)”

From the staff to the great service, to the amazing small touches (chocolates on the pillow), this is the greatest place to stay in San Deigo. The location can't be beat and the hotel beds are super comfortable. Thanks for a great stay!

“Very upscale. I will definitely be back.”

The location is great, the room is nice. Breakfast was expensive but delicious. My only complaint is the shower, the water pressure is too low. Other than that, it was a luxurious experience.

“Luxury Indeed”

Room service was quick, and the people who brought up the food were really nice and courteous. The valet got our car quickly everyday and offered to give us directions, if we needed them. The hotel lobby is clean & beautiful as was the room itself. No complaints!

“First Class Experience”

US Grant is an elegant hotel that has taken special effort to share it's history via displays and pictures. The staff was very accommodating. It was evident employees took pride in their hotel. Grill and Bar pricing for dinner was higher than expected but the bar menu fit the bill. Food was well prepared and met expectations. The rooms are elegantly apppointed and the bed are very comfortable. That said, Some of the king size rooms are small with only one night stand - with alot of hotel "clutter" on it. These rooms have smaller baths with bowl sinks so large that it leaves very limited space for any toiletries. Also had limited storage space for clothing. Recommend if you are staying in one of the smaller rooms it would be best for a one nighter.

“The hotel was beautiful and the staff was excellent!!”

The only thing that I would wanted to have known before I went was that the only parking is valet parking . When taking expenses of a trip into account that would have been a consideration. However, I am glad that we stayed there anyway. We were not only impressed with the hotel itself, but the staff from housekeeping to the concierge were friendly and made us feel very welcome.
