“Fabulous find!”

The hotel was clean, staff were very helpful. Because we checked in on a Sunday the parking at the meters were free. Staff let us know what to look for in leaving our car overnight at the meter and we saved $30 for valet fees. The bartender was very friendly. The hotel was in a great location. We would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it.

“Quaint and friendly hotel”

We loved the Sofia. Our room was small, but cozy and comfortable with all the amenities. We also really liked the restaurant in the hotel....excellent food, amazing happy hour, and great staff.

“Excellent hotel for a great price”

This is a great hotel in the centre of San Diego. The service was excellent and the room was one of the most comfortable I've stayed in.

“Great Value & Location”

I stayed at the Sofia purely based on reviews I had read and I was extremely pleased. I was upgraded to a room with a city view and the room was very clean and comfortable. I was at a convention and it was a 10 minute walk but very safe. Right across from the Horton Plaza which had everything needed. The rooms were very small and tight but I had read that and expected that. Perfect for the business traveler and perhaps a bit snug for 2 people. The shower was tight but nicely done and clean. The service was great from the front desk as well. Parking was expensive but that seems to be the norm in that area. The only thing that you should know is that it is above the bus station so at night you may see some seedy folks but I still felt safe at all times. I would definitely stay there again based on the value.

“Great Hotel”

Great location and even better services, yes the rooms are smaller I knew this going in but what are you doing in your room, so much to do in San Diego, especially with this hotels location.

“Chic and cosy Sofia”

The Sofia hotel is cosy and très chic. Small room but very urban and stylish. Great location: Easy access to the heart of the Gaslamp, it's restaurants and shopping. Helpful and friendly staff. Free internet access in the lobby was very handy. Only down side was the noise. Downtown SD is noisy with air traffic and numerous sirens. Ear plugs are a definite must.

“Great Location”

We stayed at the Sofia Hotel for 3 nights. The hotel location is great and the price was reasonable, however, the room is quite small. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the level of service and cleanliness. Will return to this hotel again.

“Charmed Again by 'The Sophia'”

After the initial shuffling about of hotel rooms, everything went so smoothly. Brian, Ben, Gina, Leah & Matt took such great care of me! I spent breakfast every morning at 'Currant' and was attended to by Jesus and Sal most attentively. And, Omar, whom I met in Mar 2008 STILL remembered me! How amazing was that! Mike and Jeff at the bar were great sources of good ideas of where to go for music. And I just loved the Happy Hour. My favorite selections from Currant's menu were Wild Salmon Tartare, and Salad Nicoise, and Mussels (both the white wine sauce and the French Curry version). The planters were looking sad and needed TLC. Would suggest more herbs be planted, maybe even some grape vines. The room was cozy, and very elegant. Loved the body moisturizer & the conditioner. The half-glass shower stall did not contain the water spray very well and I would suggest 2 bathmats be given to each room! Would also like to suggest that free Internet be provided to all the rooms. I love the location of 'The Sophia'. It's so close to the main attractions of the city. I will be back, most definitely, and a lot sooner than a couple of years! Thank you to everyone at 'The Sophia' !
