“Great Classic”

This is a classic Spanish revival inn, with well-maintained grounds and rooms. Great for romantic getaway.

“beautiful histoic inn”

This inn was built in 1928 by two women architects, and its historic atmosphere has been maintained even though several of the cottages were rebuilt 5 years ago. We had the smallest of the cottages, but we had a fireplace ready for lighting, and a wonderful bathroom and cosy comfortable bed. We had a lovely meal in the hotel library, again with a roaring fire in place. The grounds are beautiful. we wished we had arranged to stay longer

“Quiet and Comfortable”

We wanted to stay at a hotel fairly close to San Diego, but in a more remote location. The Inn certainly satisfied both. Quaint rooms in a "casita" type setting. Very quiet little town, so there isn't much to do in downtown Rancho Santa Fe, but that's what we were looking for. The rooms looked like they were recently remodeled and were in perfect condition.

“Excellent hotel”

This place was beautiful. The grounds were covered with all sorts of flowers. When we got to our room (which was a little difficult to find as we had to drive a bit to get to it), we found that it had a fireplace and was arranged quite nicely, different that what you would expect in a hotel. The room was pretty much spotless. I can honestly say that I have no complaints at all about this one.

“We will stay at this vintage place again next time”

This place is in the middle of a rich little enclave, North of San Diego, proper. The place is old, so if you're into the latest flat panel TV, etc. it's not for you as our room looked like it hadn't been renovated in 20 years. Having said that, we had a great stay and plan on staying there again next time we go to San Diego. Service was personal and solid, everything was clean and nice. Lots of very pleasant landscaping.

“Peaceful, maybe too much so”

This hotel was in a beautiful area nestled away from the usual hussle and bussle. My girlfriend and i stayed in one of the cottage rooms (115). It was convenient to parking yet still felt private. As you walk thru the small patio/entry area the door to room was an interesting rustic look, the king size bed was neatly made, the wood burning fire place was chocked with wood atop newspaper and ready to go. The bathrooms were immaculate and consisted of beautifully granited dual vanity sinks, very spacious with both a claw foot tub and a walk in shower. The tv was an older style tube tv but the music sounded great on a bedside Bose system. The AC worked well and the tasteful ceiling fan was an added bonus - i love air movement. The one thing that irked me a bit was i had planned on eating at Thymes and disappointedly, 90% of the village shops are closed Sunday and Monday. So, we departed earlier than wanted and headed to Jakes in Del Mar - which turned out to be a good move as we were seated in the back with a great view of the ocean. I would stay at the Rancho Sante Fe Inn again but time it where i can enjoy the village shops.

“Out of the way but worth the effort”

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rancho Santa Fe Inn. The rooms are very well furnished, comfortable and quiet. The grounds are impeccably kept and the quiet, out of the way location makes for a very relaxing getaway. Our one complaint is that the hotel only offers complimentary coffee/tea service from 6-7am on weekdays and 7-8am on weekends. This is ridiculous as the whole point of staying at such a nice resort is not to have to wake up early! Thus, a rental car is mandatory if you don't want to be stuck in the "boonies". Overall, a very nice place to stay in the San Diego area especially if you want to avoid the crowds staying along the coast.
