“ideal for a relaxing weekend”
Great place to get away from it all and unwind. Rustic but sophisticated. Stone's throw from shops and restaurants yet with a country feel.
“beautiful histoic inn”
This inn was built in 1928 by two women architects, and its historic atmosphere has been maintained even though several of the cottages were rebuilt 5 years ago. We had the smallest of the cottages, but we had a fireplace ready for lighting, and a wonderful bathroom and cosy comfortable bed. We had a lovely meal in the hotel library, again with a roaring fire in place. The grounds are beautiful. we wished we had arranged to stay longer
“Peaceful, maybe too much so”
This hotel was in a beautiful area nestled away from the usual hussle and bussle. My girlfriend and i stayed in one of the cottage rooms (115). It was convenient to parking yet still felt private. As you walk thru the small patio/entry area the door to room was an interesting rustic look, the king size bed was neatly made, the wood burning fire place was chocked with wood atop newspaper and ready to go. The bathrooms were immaculate and consisted of beautifully granited dual vanity sinks, very spacious with both a claw foot tub and a walk in shower. The tv was an older style tube tv but the music sounded great on a bedside Bose system. The AC worked well and the tasteful ceiling fan was an added bonus - i love air movement. The one thing that irked me a bit was i had planned on eating at Thymes and disappointedly, 90% of the village shops are closed Sunday and Monday. So, we departed earlier than wanted and headed to Jakes in Del Mar - which turned out to be a good move as we were seated in the back with a great view of the ocean. I would stay at the Rancho Sante Fe Inn again but time it where i can enjoy the village shops.
“Great atmosphere”
This is a quality hotel in an awesome setting. Close enough to Del Mar racetrack and other venues while still set in an out-of-the-way charming setting. Probably the nicest hotel for the price! We will return.
“A Gem in teh San Diego Back Country”
A brief two day stay was a wonderful respite from the world. This place is beautifully landscaped, the service is impeccable, and the rooms are quiet, private, and spacious. The perfect weekend getaway.
“Love it!”
We've been visiting this in for 28 years and still love it. This is where we come when we want to decompress from our busy lives and feel normal again.
“Romantic getaway”
This inn is definitely off the beaten path and is quite romantic; fireplaces in every room, serene setting, and well manicured landscaping. I was there on business but would love to go back with my "mate" and spend some down time. A very relaxing atmosphere and the dining was also superb!
“quaint inn”
Great Inn in beautiful Rancho Santa Fee, close to ocean, golf, great walking trails & good restaurants - really nice get away
“Excellent hotel”
This place was beautiful. The grounds were covered with all sorts of flowers. When we got to our room (which was a little difficult to find as we had to drive a bit to get to it), we found that it had a fireplace and was arranged quite nicely, different that what you would expect in a hotel. The room was pretty much spotless. I can honestly say that I have no complaints at all about this one.
“Charming, but a bit of a disappointment”
Its the only place to stay if you really want to experience Rancho Santa Fe. Overall it was charming with lots of history. The plantings around the hotel were incredible. The room was beautiful, but slightly crowded with too many chairs. The service was disappointing. The cleaning person missed a whole day. The waitress added a drink to our bill the one night we dined at the hotel. Often no one was at the front desk.
