Set on 13 landscaped acres, The Dana on Mission Bay is a half-mile from SeaWorld and seven miles from downtown San Diego.
In addition to a private marina, the hotel features fitness facilities and a tropical-style pool with game area and a bayside infinity-edge pool. Both pools have spa tubs and bar service.
Shuttle service is available for arriving and departing guests only to the airport, Amtrak station, and cruise ship terminal (surcharges). A free shuttle to Sea World is also offered. All shuttle service is limited, based upon availability, and subject to change.
Dining options include a family-style American restaurant and a casual lounge with warm wood walls and pool views.
Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel.

Rooms
Most rooms at The Dana on Mission Bay have garden, marina, or Mission Bay views. Guestrooms with no pool or marina views are located in the hotel's original Marina Cove area. These rooms offer compact refrigerators, microwaves, coffeemakers, and separate vanity areas.
Bay-view guestrooms, located in the Water's Edge area, provide sofa beds and private furnished patios or balconies. Bay-view amenities include wet bars with compact refrigerators, microwaves, and coffeemakers.
All rooms offer complimentary wireless Internet access, high-definition TVs with satellite service, HBO, and pay movies. All accommodations are nonsmoking.

Dining
The Blue Pearl - Family-style restaurant. American fare. Cooked-to-order breakfast served daily 6:30 AM-11:30 AM. Also serves lunch and dinner, and offers a children's menu.
Firefly Restaurant and Bar - Contemporary atmosphere and innovative cuisine unique to the California region. Open for lunch, dinner, and poolside service next to the year-round bayside pool. Happy hours. Casual dining. Children's menu available.
Pool bar - Located near the tropical pool. Seasonal hours.
Recreation
The Dana on Mission Bay - Sea World features two landscaped, heated outdoor pools; both have spa tubs. A seasonal pool bar offers beverages for the Tropical Pool, while the Firefly Restaurant provides seasonal beverage service to the Bayside Pool. Ping-Pong and volleyball are available on site for guests, as well as bicycle rentals, pedal boats, personal watercrafts, and other water-sports rentals.
A 140-slip marina and a 27-mile jogging/biking path are adjacent to the hotel.

“This hotel is a gem”
Setting and gounds are beautiful and it's convenient to Sea world, the beach and other attractions. The exceptional price made this vacation all the more enjoyable.
“great stay for ahort amount of time”
The hotel staff was very attentive. My boyfriend forget his razor, they came right over with razor and cream. They upgraded us upon arrival as the result of a mistake on their part. Hotel and grounds were very clean Beautiful pool arae and hot tub. We ate at only one of the two restaurants and it was pretty good. Overall, we loved it!
“Would Love To Go Back”
The room in the newer section of the hotel off the bay was excellent. The veiw was fantastic. The balcony was amazing. Very romantic. You could see and smell the firepits in the evening. Quaint and not huge so that it loses charm.

The hotel was nice. It was clean. The pools were clean and the staff was friendly.
“Very Pleased”
We read the reviews and, based on the reviews, were somewhat concerned about staying at this hotel, however our stay could not have been more pleasant. We called to get the shuttle for service at the airport (there is a fee for the shuttle). Upon arrival, the hotel grounds were beautiful and manicured. Check in was easy and and efficient. We stayed in a Bay View room and the view was spectacular. I would reccomend a Bay View room. The balcony was adequate for casual relaxation. Very satisfied with our spring vacation at the Dana.
“Nice place at a good price”
We liked DANA because it had a tropical feel to it. Also, very close to Sea World (you can take a free shuttle to get there from the motel). Only complaint was from the noise from kids playing in the pool, as we had a pool side room. Highly recommend this if you can get a good price. I found that prices went up quite a bit as the reservation time got closer. Our reservation time was 2 weeks in advance, and we got a very good through Expedia. Also, no charge for parking while at the motel. They did not offer parking while on the cruise, however.
“Loved it!”
This was our 3rd time at The Dana. Last time was 14 years ago. We enjoyed it then too. This time it was all remodeled and it was great. Especially liked that they picked us up at the airport, took us to the cruise terminal, and shuttled us to SeaWorld. We booked the Breakfast special, and it was really worth it. Thanks, we'll be back!!!
“delightful oasis”
Located near Sea World off Mission drive, the hotel was located in the middle of a marina which caters not only to sail boats but fishing and all sorts of water sports.The hotel rooms were spread out facing marina, pool or garden setting. Although there were two pools, I only tried one which looked out over the marina and had a jacuzzi and restaurant serving great food.

We stayed in the newer buildings overlooking the bay and loved every minute. The Dana provided beautiful views, clean rooms, extrememly attentive staff at the Blue Pearl restuarant, ample space for walking and close to everything we came to do. We also had the opportunity to see a wedding being held on grounds, which was stunning to say the least. We would and already have recommended The Dana to our friends.

We stayed at the hotel while visiting Sea World. It was an easy 1/2 mile walk past the marina. Beautiful surroundings on the bay. Felt very safe to walk, even at night. The swimming pool & spa were great. The breakfast was delicious, nice selections, for the package that we chose it was included.
