“Comfortable and clean”
Borrego Springs is such an insulated little oasis in the desert; charming. This hotel was clean and comfortable and very close to the center of town. The air conditioner worked great!
“It will do”
Pretty much basic. I thought the price was high for no frills but the showers were good sized, beds comfortable and TV servicwas good. What more do you need?
“When I need solitude to regroup, have a good cry, or just to relax, this is the place!!!”
Didn't think that "old" hotels were still being used as this one. It was a very nice experience to stay in such a hotel. The staff was so nice. The room was very clean and comfortable. Will definitely go back again. Thank you!!!
“Would stay again”
Nice pool, loved the little patio in the back. Feels isolated but just a 5 minute drive down the road to town. Diane at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Will go back again.
“Room Amenities need work.”
The window heater/air conditioner thermostat did not function. The unit could be turned on and off but did not work automatically. The refrigerator also did not work. There was a circuit breaker in the room for the refrigerator but it kept popping out. Staff was courteous and location convenient.
“Funky, in a 60's Sort of way”
This hotel is rundown, it needs updating. It looks as if it was built in the 60's in the motel style, all one story with some stand alone casitas and then other rooms that are atttched. It has not had much done to it since then, I think. We had a suite, which was a self contained cement block casita room with a kitchen, bath and bedroom with a TV. The heater was great, quiet and heated quickly. Minimal decor. The best was that we brought our dog and they did not charge us extra. OUr room had a grassy area in front with a patio, table and bar-b-Q. The pool was sparkling clean and heated. It depends on what is important to you, we are not that picky,( we camp and are used to more rustic conditions), so we were fine with this hotel because of the fact that we could have our dog with us. And we did not spend any time in the room, we were out walking and hiking. The room was clean, the kitchen well equipped and the bed was comfortable. I think this is a good place to stay if you want a small motel and don't mind outdated style.
“Stanlunds Resort”
The motel is very old. Room was clean. Only problem I had was there were mosquitos in the room when we arrived. There were 5 large ones buzzing around. We turned the light on in the bathroom-trapped them there and killed them. We were supposed to take a desert jeep tour but due to the weather (heavy rain)--it was canceled. The room was ok other than being old. Walls were pretty thin-luckily not much noise. There are no other real choices to stay in this area. I don't think the motel was worth the price $110 per night but it was our cheapest choice. A little much just to sleep in a bed.
