“Ignore all the bad reviews”
After booking for five nights, I read the reviews and became very worried that I had made a mistake. But when we arrived, all my worries were eliminated and turned into one of the best experiences my wife and I have ever had. The hotel rooms are beautiful, incredibly comfy King bed, pillows you will want to steal, and a choice of views at the main hotel of the marina one one side, or the city skyline (we picked the marina view because it was serene and restful). Also had a small balcony to sunbathe. It was surprising that we could not hear the airport at all even though it was right beside us. The $5 coupon available each day if you don't want the room cleaned is a great idea that other hotels should use -- and we enjoyed using the $ at Starbucks in the main lobby. The pools and hot tub were beautifully surrounded with palm trees, and the location of the hotel is perfect for jogging or strolling along the beach. Most people don't know that this Sheraton is the only hotel currently in the U.S. that produces all of its own power requirements and even sells the excess to the city of SD. Parking is high and the main restaurant is expensive. But if you get a good price, factor the parking fee in and you'll still be ahead. Some reviews I read here were disgusting -- this hotel and the service IS excellent and only people with a bone to pick with the world would find something wrong here. Wireless is available free in the lobby. Easily a 4-star hotel.
“Convenient Location”
Hotel was nice, staff was helpful & friendly. The lack of a breakfast was disappointing. The information about the hotel left in the room was more about selling additional services than offering information about the hotel
“It's what we expected”
Everything was fine
“Booking Through Third Party = Low Priority”
I made reservations at the hotel, as they were holding a large event in which our daughter was being sworn in, along with a large congregation of new lawyers. Being 6'-4", I need a king sized bed. Two options were available at the time of making the reservations; rooms in the Bay Tower and Marnia Tower. After reading reviews, I made reservation for the Marina Tower. When we arrived, they tried to give us a room in the Bay Tower. I showed them my confirmation, which stated Marina. I was told by using a third party to book room, I had lower priority. I did not get a Marina Tower room. I was given a room in what I was told was considered part of the Marina Tower. It was not. The Laguna Building room smelled musty and was pretty far from the Marina Tower main lobby. Although the location of the hotel is convenient; right next to the marina and not far from LIttle Italy and down town, it is alwo right next to the air port, which is a bit noisy. Although we did not let this dissapointment dampen our spirits on such a monumental occassion, we felt that we would have received far better quality of room and service for the cost.
“san diego harbor island sheridan hotel”
San Diego Harbor Island hotel was great. However, self parking at $22.00 per night was high. There was no available outlet by my bed for my C-PAP breathing machine.
“Decent But Not Special”
We chose this hotel because it is close to the airport and my kids love watching airplanes. However, the San Diego airport does not have that much air traffic so we didn't see many air planes. The hotel is very big. It feels more like a business hotel for conferences than a good vacation hotel. The two towers are pretty far from each other. The room is very clean but small. We have the marina view, and saw a lot of yatches. If you walk out the hotel, you will see the bay, the view is very nice. However, there is not much around the hotel, so you have to drive to downtown or anywhere. Overall I am satisfied with the hotel, but it is not special enough for me to go back.
“Tung”
If you want to take a shower better at morning or before 10pm or you have to wait 25 mins to get hot water which means you have to open the faucet and waste water for 25 mins...(and that is the hotel engineer told me ) please save the earth start from save the water!!!
“Not comfortable”
The hotel service was great. Location not bad but could hear airlines take off. The view was fabulous of the marina, which was the only true bright spot in the stay. Had to pay for parking, and call for a refrig for our drinks. Won't go back due to beds and pillows are way uncomfortable.
“Awesome Hotel, Horrible Parking”
Everything about this hotel is good. Except for the fact that parking is a real pain in the a**!! you pay $22 for parking and you have to park in a dirt lot basically.
“Would definitely stay again.”
Stayed on one night before catching the cruise ship to Hawaii. Would definitely stay again.
