“Best room service ever, excellent, excellent hotel!”

If you are looking for a great deal (visit Expedia!) for quite possibly some of the best customer service you will ever experience, visit San Diego Marriott La Jolla. Why? 1. Check in is at 4pm. My plans changed and I was without my car rental (not until 1pm) and at the hotel at 10:30 am with nowhere to go and having been up all night traveling. I went to the front desk and asked if I might check into my room early and................the clerk said that if I would not mind changing from a king to 2 doubles, he would place me in a room immediately. Result: I received early check in ...quite early....at no additional cost. 2. Room service. This hotel has the BEST room service I have ever experienced. The food was excellent, the temperature of hot/cold items exact and the service staff were professional to the max. 3. Operator always picked up on the first ring and always answered me by my name and always was happy to help with whatever I needed. Every time. 4. Physical condition. This hotel was clean, attractive, ALL staff (even the janitorial) was responsive and friendly. Bottom line: Whatever Marriott is doing to train and retain staff, it is working and other hoteliers would be smart to emulate this.

Try to visit Solano Beach and Del Mar - they are both beautiful parts of the coast and fun cities to visit and linger.

“Looking forward to going back”

From the moment we entered we were taken the full attention of the staff, check in staff Ryan was wonderful, also the servers in the cafe, right down to the parking attendants. We were very well treated and had a very good experince.

“Not my cup of Tea”

From the Dog barking in the room next door to the slamming doors and Domestic dispute above us, I never got a good night sleep. It is not near the ocean, but I should have run a map to see where it was located, based on the condition of the hotel, they should rebrand to a lower quality franchise, I expected more from the marriott brand. The staff was very nice and did resolve the barking dog issue fast. I hope they found a good home for that dog :) Does anyone know what a kennel is for!

“Great time”

Overall we had an excellent time. The room was clean, well-furnished, and comfortable. The hotel's restaurant served a very generous breakfast (menu or buffet) and the staff was helpful and friendly. In-room wi-fi service was a little expensive but there was complimentary wireless in the lobby. 24-hour gym/pool/sauna was a big plus. If you're coming for a family vacation this Marriott location might be a bit far from most attractions but I would definitely recommend picking one of their alternate sites. On the other hand if you're willing to commute for a few more minutes La Jolla is a really beautiful area. Can't think of a better franchise for these rates.

“VERY nice”

Great location if you are using Thornton Hospital (UCSD La Jolla). If you have handicap plates, you can park for free. EXCELLENT workout facility with indoor pool and outdoor pool.
