This award-winning tennis resort occupies 40 acres landscaped with citrus and palm trees in the exclusive enclave of Rancho Santa Fe, within eight miles of the Rancho Santa Fe Polo Club and the beaches and horse-racing track at Del Mar.
In addition to an expansive tennis program, guests of Rancho Valencia enjoy a croquet lawn and an outdoor lap pool with two adjacent spa tubs. The full-service spa includes a complimentary fitness center and complimentary yoga and Pilates classes. Guests have privileges at multiple championship golf courses in the area.
French-influenced California cuisine is served in the acclaimed Rancho Valencia Restaurant, which features a Mission-style courtyard and colorful tile work.

Rancho Valencia's 49 guestrooms are located in 25 one-story casitas separated by citrus and palm trees, bougainvillea, honeysuckle, and other native plants. Accessed via exterior corridors, accommodations have private, furnished garden patios. Decor includes open-beamed cathedral ceilings, sunken living areas with gas fireplaces, and hand-painted Mexican tiles.
Spacious bathrooms include separate showers and tubs (some with jetted tubs and steam showers), TVs, telephones, custom-made toiletries, and makeup/shaving mirrors. All accommodations have minibars, wet bars, DVD and CD players, multi-line phones, and complimentary high-speed wired and wireless Internet access.
Robes and slippers are provided, as is nightly turndown service. A choice of complimentary newspapers and freshly squeezed Valencia orange juice are delivered each morning. Guests may borrow complimentary DVDs and CDs from a list provided in each suite.

Rancho Valencia Restaurant - Locally popular fine-dining restaurant specializing in French-influenced California cuisine. Open-beamed ceilings, fresh flowers on tables, and Mission-style courtyard. Adjacent bar. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch served; bar open until late evening.
Room service - Available 24 hours in-room and poolside.
Recreation
Rancho Valencia Resort's 18 hard tennis courts are clustered in three groups, and court time is complimentary. An on-site pro shop can re-string rackets, find partners for solo players, and arrange clinics or private lessons for all skill levels (surcharges). Complimentary iced lemon water and towels are provided courtside.
Guests enjoy an outdoor lap pool with two adjacent spa tubs. A 10,000-square-foot regulation croquet lawn is on site, with complimentary equipment provided. The resort also offers complimentary use of bicycles, bocce ball, and board games.
The full-service health spa includes a complimentary fitness center with treadmills, stair machines, cross-trainers, stationary bikes, and strength-training machines. Guests may also take complimentary scheduled yoga, Pilates, and spinning classes. Personal trainers are available for a surcharge.
Guests have privileges at multiple championship golf courses in the area, including Rancho Santa Fe Farms (adjacent to the resort), the Del Mar Country Club, the Grand Del Mar, Four Seasons Aviara, Maderas Golf Club, and the renowned Torrey Pines Golf Club.
Del Mar beaches, 7.5 miles away, offer surfing and other water sports. Lifeguards are on duty during summer months.

“Perfect for everything!”
This is the best resort that I have ever been. Quiet, comfortable, wonderful services, awful sheets, and shampoos. My wife also enjoyed the massage, although the spa had not been completed.
“A Delightful Stay”
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa. The suite was very comfortable with an open airy feeling - owing to the high, vaulted ceiling and ample size. The amenities and service provided were welcoming. We especially enjoyed the beautiful landscaping. The private patio was very enjoyable and the lobby, restaurant and spa were stunning. The offerings of the on-site restaurant offered wide choices - delicious and elegantly presented - both in the restaurant and room service. Definitely would enjoy another stay.

When I built my most recent trip, Expedia listed this resort as the only 5-start resort that popped up in my search results, so I booked it. Needless to say, it didn't disappointed. There are no 'rooms' persay, just 800sq ft and bigger cottages all over the 45 arce grounds that you rent. The room was clean and bed was extremely comforatable (Pillow-top mattress and down comforter). Full cable minus the movie channels and prompt/delicious room services caters to the people that would rather stay in and its location in Del Mar caters to the high-class folks that want to go out and really live it up in La Jolla. We visited Seaworld and San Diego Zoo, both were about 30min drive with semi heavy traffic.

“5 Star all the way!”
If you are looking for a private relaxing vacation this is the place to go. Every Villa has a private patio and each of the Grove suites have a private hot tub. The service is fantastic everyone is very polite and helpful. We stayed in a Grove Suite and when we got to our room we were welcomed with a beautiful flower arrangement,chocolates & a fruit basket. The room was outstanding and very clean. More than enough amenities. There are two pools, one for families and the other for adults. The Spa was fantastic with every service imaginable. If you stay here you will need to rent a car as the closest restaurant is approx 8 miles away that we found. We mostly did room service and the food was great. Usually appeared within 20 minuets of ordering. Not far from the attractions, 25 mins to Sea World, 20 from Legoland, and 25 from San Diego. If you are an avid tennis player this place is for you. Our daughter traveled with us and Rancho Valencia made her feel very welcome with her own house coat and teddy bear waiting for her in our room upon check in. House keeping is unbelievable. Your room is cleaned two times a day once with a day cleaning and again at turn down service. We loved it here and were sad to leave but will be returning again next summer. The grounds are lush and beautiful. If you stay here you won't be disappointed!

“The quiet and appealing atmosphere. Once you arrived you do not want to leave”
We spent 4 nights in this marvelous place with 3 and 1/2 years old boy. To our pleasant surprise this resort absolutely exceeded all our expectations. Strategically located just 9 miles from San Diego coastline it offers privacy of your own house, yet there are so many things to do close by. You can visit Sea World, La Jolla and Del Mar. You can swim in 82 degrees swimming pool or relax in hot Jacuzzi under the sky with shining stars. Later, order extraordinary breakfast in your room and have a glass of orange juice squeezed a moment ago with fresh newspaper in the morning. We did not want to go back to Bay Area... This resort is a rear find and by far exceeds 5 star rating. What are you waiting for? Go on and discover this jewel for yourself. Viva Rancho Valencia!

“Great for families”
We typically stay in Del Mar for our SoCal visits (we are from the Bay Area) and have two children under 9. Del Mar is bustling and right on the beach. This resort is about 15 minutes from Del Mar - a very easy drive without getting on the highway. We were concerned that we would be out of place with the kids at the resort but found the suite size absolutely perfect with the large living room, outside patio and overall square footage, that after 5 days we were not claustrophobic and could actually enjoy some time in the room. There were plenty of televisions in each room, including one over the soaking tub, so the kids could watch a movie while we watched the news or whatever. Rooms are very comfortable. There is a bar area, so we bought some snacks at the local market and filled the regrigerator with drinks with the kids juice and milk. The pool was perfect and we found that many people brought their kids. The poolside service provides beach balls, water frisbees and noodles for the kids to play with. The fitness center is in great shape, a bit small, but you can get a real workout in. We will go back.
