Reminiscent of a large country estate, this 297-acre San Diego resort is located in a suburb within five miles of two shopping plazas and 26 miles from downtown San Diego.
Rancho Bernardo Inn's 18-hole golf course has hosted the PGA tour, and three additional nine-hole courses are a mile away. A driving range, putting green, and golf pro shop are also on site. The resort's tennis facilities include two courts and professional instruction. (Surcharges apply for golf and tennis facilities and instruction.)
The 10,000-square-foot Buena Vista Spa offers a range treatments (surcharge), including facials, massage, and aromatherapy. A 24-hour fitness center has cardio equipment and personal trainers (surcharge). Two outdoor pools are suitable for laps, and one is reserved for adults. A children's camp is offered seasonally (surcharge).
Rancho Bernardo Inn has 25,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including three ballrooms, and a business center with three computers offering high-speed Internet access.
Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in the lobby, veranda bar, and adult pool area. Use of the business center and fitness center is included in a daily resort fee. Disabled-friendly property.

The resort has 287 guestrooms in eight buildings scattered throughout the grounds. Buildings are one, two, or three stories high, and just one has an elevator. Most guestrooms are accessible via exterior corridors. All rooms have furnished patios or balconies with views of the valley, golf course, pools, or landscaped resort grounds. Decor varies and includes custom furnishings and antiques.
All rooms offer Aveda bath amenities, minibars, in-room safes, and complimentary premium channels. Wireless and wired high-speed Internet access, local phone calls, and weekday newspaper delivery are complimentary.

Dining
El Bizcocho - This award-winning restaurant features contemporary French cuisine and a 1,600-label wine list. The Mexican-colonial decor includes rich colors and wrought-iron chandeliers. Outdoor patio seating is available. Dinner and Sunday brunch are served; jackets are required.
La Taberna - Adjoining El Bizcocho is this lounge with upholstered armchairs, a bright fireplace, and a baby grand piano. Cocktails, fine wine, and live piano music are offered nightly.
The Veranda Bar and Grille - California-Mediterranean cuisine is served at this casual bistro overlooking the 18th hole. Menu items range from salads and wood-fired pizzas to steaks. Guests can dine on an outdoor terrace with a fireplace. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served.
Sports Bar - This casual bar by the first tee has a clubby feel with a pool table and plaid carpeting. The bar offers five TVs, a variety of board games, and a dartboard. Sandwiches, burgers, snacks, beer, and cocktails are served. Open late morning till late night.
Music Room - On Wednesday afternoons, high tea is served in this room with multiple fireplaces, leather couches, and walls lined with antique musical instruments.
Recreation
The resort's 18-hole golf course has hosted the PGA and LPGA tours, and guests can also use a driving range and putting green. The Tennis College provides two courts, and pros are on hand for clinics and personal coaching. (Surcharges apply for golf and tennis facilities andfor instruction.)
A 24-hour fitness center includes circuit equipment, treadmills, stair machines, stationary bikes, and free weights. Nutritionists and personal trainers are available (surcharge). Seven spa tubs dot the resort grounds, and two outdoor pools are suitable for laps. The resort also has bicycles for rent and jogging paths. A children's camp is offered seasonally (surcharge).
Resort guests also have access to three nine-hole golf courses at Oaks North, one mile away. Several other courses are located within 30 miles: Temecula Creek (27 holes), Twin Oaks (18 holes), and Encinitas Ranch (18 holes).

“Must try”
Quiet, relaxing, beautiful outdoor spaces. A great place for kids as well as adults.

Beautiful resort setting. Spacious and clean rooms. Excellent staff. Invited to and attended lovely Manager's Cocktail party on day of arrival. Wonderful Sunday breakfast buffet--reasonably priced. Golf course appeared to be in great shape--next time we will bring the clubs.

Wonderful hideaway in a bustling area. Luxurious, comfortable and meticulously clean rooms. Spectacular views and wonderful service. Will definitely return.

excellent value for money it felt like a 5 star hotel, restaurant a little expensive but if you saw the place you would expect it. beds were lovely heated pools were very good. setting was in one of the better areas of san diego.
“A quiet oasis”
This hotel is tucked in a residential area so no road noise. It has many interior courtyards with fountains with separate family and adult swimming pools. My only disappointment was an additional daily parking fee which was unexpected for a suburban location.

“Package Deals”
If you stay here and enjoy golf & spa, I would recommend upgrading to a golf and spa package. We had an unlimited golf package that was excellent and it allowed us to play on 3 different golf courses! The spa was new and was also very nice. Sunday brunch at El Bizcocho is a MUST!

“Great place for a quit get away!”
My daughter and I spent 3 days here. Very nice grounds and restaurants. The hotel is no higher than 3 stories and the rooms are scattered around the property. The spa is gorgeous and we would love to come back and spend more time lounging! The Wild Animal Park is close by but it is about a 1/2 drive to most other SD attractions. A good place to come and stay on site enjoying the amenities!

The Hotel was great. The Veranda was beatiful. We sat out by the fire place one night,I could have stayed there forever.
