“What an experience!”
This was the most relaxing place I have ever had the pleasure of staying. I felt like a queen. The rooms were quiet and the ambience of the resort can not be duplicated in my mind. I needed a quiet place to study for a critical exam and this proved to be the place. I ate my dinner out on the terrace overlooking the golf course...what more could you ask for. I have already recommended this resort to family and friends.
“Will definitely stay there again”
The hotel was very nice. The grounds are beautiful and the staff and guest were very friendly.
“great four star hotel”
Stayed 1 night. It is a little bit far from San Diego downtown. But it is a clean and beautiful place.
“Not my thing”
As a single gal looking for a get away, this place is really not my thing, would be great for kids (i went there as a kid and had fun), but most of the guests seemed a bit snobby! Also the room service food tasted like it had been sitting there for a while, and the coffee in the cafe wasn't good at all! Didn't feel like making a fuss over it at the time cause i was relaxing...over all, it is a beautiful hotel just not my thing
“Service not at all at Preferred Hotel level”
We travel a lot so we are admittedly picky, but "Preferred Hotel" should mean just that. The "front" staff gave a horrible impression upon check-in and check-out. At first, the doorstaff assumed we weren't guests at the hotel and directed us out of the turnaround! Then, when we pulled over to the curb, we were ignored again until I asked for "valet park" -- this while three doorstaff stood by an empty car chatting. Then, the doorman who finally gave us a valet ticket asked multiple times for the car keys despite being told the keys were in the door console -- this being a pushbutton start car. By the time we walked over to the front desk, we were ready to cancel our reservation and move on, had we not already known that the area had few open hotel rooms. On checkout, the front desk staff (1)took way too long to check us out, (2) almost double-charged a resort fee we had already paid for (that took 10 mins to fix) and (3) after I had handed the staffperson my valet ticket to call for my car, proceeded to charge me for self-parking on the second of my two hotel rooms. When I pointed out I had handed over my valet ticket, all the staff person could say was "Duh!" On the positive side, the rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The restaurant staff put the front staff to shame -- attentive, cordial and professional. Prepare to be unimpressed: this place strikes me as a golf club with a hotel desultorily attached.
“Great place for a quit get away!”
My daughter and I spent 3 days here. Very nice grounds and restaurants. The hotel is no higher than 3 stories and the rooms are scattered around the property. The spa is gorgeous and we would love to come back and spend more time lounging! The Wild Animal Park is close by but it is about a 1/2 drive to most other SD attractions. A good place to come and stay on site enjoying the amenities!
“Very nice hotel.”
We plan to visit again.
“Nice property...but not a 5-star”
I attended a family reunion at Rancho Bernardo Inn. I had called a couple of days before arrival to request room close by my cousin, who booked separately. They promised to put us in the same building, but didn't. When we checked in, we were as far apart as possible. (This is a very large property with a lot of walking). They did move me to a building closer. That said, the staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast on the verandah was outstanding...both food and service. And they seemed to have arrangements for our family dinner well in hand. My room was comfortable, but a little dated, especially the bathroom. A very small shower and very low water pressure made it hard to get the shampoo out of my hair. I would probably go back.
“Will definitely visit again!”
Beautiful resort setting. Spacious and clean rooms. Excellent staff. Invited to and attended lovely Manager's Cocktail party on day of arrival. Wonderful Sunday breakfast buffet--reasonably priced. Golf course appeared to be in great shape--next time we will bring the clubs.
“A good place to stay when in the neighborhood.”
A very nice place to be in. Remember if you are in a hurry there is quite a bit to go from parking to your room if you are unlucky and to main looby. The golf course might have hosted some PGA and LPGA tournaments but would definite not qualify today. A nice course in good condition but nothing moore.
