“Well.......”
So, my family and I are from a town of 1000 or so if you count the grasshoppers, and this was our last leg of a 9 day trip to Disneyland, Sea world, the beach, U.S.S. Midway museum, etc.. The hotel. It looked as if the hotel had just undergone some maintenance, paint was fresh, grounds were nice, lobby was immaculate. When we were greeted, the gal behind the desk was very busy trying to accomodate some other guests, so she was not as "helpful" as I would have preferred. The cleaning staff was very friendly, but unless you speak spanish, you will not get much but a nod and smile. The room was clean and comfortable, but the bathroom was tiny. The breakfast was good but one annoying part was that the room is too small for all of the guests, and several times the power went out as a result of too many items on a breaker and took literally 20-30 minutes to restore. The location was very nice. We were close to downtown and far enough away to have space.
Outdoors or beach
We went to Silver Strand Beach. Cost us $10 but was worth it. We got there at around 9 a.m. and were the only ones there. Very beautiful. Midway museum was for me so I found myself trying to hurry too much to get back to family to enjoy it. Sea World was a HUGE disappointment. The park was way overcrowded, they ran out of cups and straws and ice at some vendors. Everything was overpriced and in our twelve hours, we saw only one show and had to sit in the nose-bleed seats to boot. We purchased the meal plan and the fast pass options and wasted our money. We waited for over 1 hour in line to order a burger and soda and then had to battle seagulls that would perch over our heads at the last available table and crap on us or our food. We got two meals in our time there and would have been better off to pay as we went. Never, ever will we return to Sea World!!! I think we would return to San Diego.......Maybe......Pretty town, great nightlife downtown on Sat. night, a lot to do.
