“Good quality for the price.”
The room was good-sized and just right for our family of 5. The front desk staff wasn't overly friendly. The floors weren't very clean, but it was a decent value overall for what we needed.
“would recommend to a friend”
we really enjoyed our stay at the Ramada in Carlsbad
“Great Home Away from Home”
Excellent front desk service. Nice sized table in room for dining or working. Good storage in kitchen area for a longer stay.
“Good hotel for price”
Great hotel for visiting Legoland. Only bad thing was breakfast in the morning. Although it came free with our room, it was too over crowded. 2 wafflemakers for the 30 people that were waiting.
“Just fine”
We stayed at the Ramada Carlsbad hotel for 5 nights last week. Although the hotel is aging (or perhaps old!), it was very clean and the staff was very pleasant. The breakfast bar was terrific -- fruit, yogurt, waffles, muffins, bagels, toast, cereal, juice, milk, tea, coffee. We started each day with a great breakfast, without having to go out to eat. You can certainly hear I-5 and loud guests as the rooms have larger windows (which are not sound proof). We had the one-bedroom suite with a fridge, 2 TVs and 2 doubles with a pull-out couch. The hotel is only a 5-minute from Legoland, Costco, the beach and the Carlsbad Premium Outlet Mall, and only 30 minutes from SeaWorld and San Diego Zoo. We would stay here again.
“Needs updated sofa and furniture.”
The sofa looked like it was a 1950 sofa and it made the room smell very badly. The sofa also was torn and was in poor condition.
“Thought I was back in the 80's”
Hotel nees to be brought up to date. I thought that I was in the 80's. Rooms where clean but the carpet was all dingy and not very appealing to the eye.
“Great value, strange rules”
We got a very nice hotel for what we paid (very clean room with modern amenities), but... some of their rules were really strange. For instance, if you don't declare your intention to use the pool when you check-in, you won't be allowed to use the pool during your entire stay. Also, there were no DO NOT DISTURB signs, nor any way of indicating to the housekeeping staff that their services would not be required on a particular day (short of calling the front desk.)
“comfortable stay”
Our week stay at The Ramada was very comfortable with friendly staff. The town of Carlsbad was quiet, but downtown San Diego was only 25 minutes away.
“Not a bad price bug not close to the sea”
The hotel has easy access to hwy 5, Legoland, Oceanside beaches and to shopping/dining. It's about a mile from the beach, which seemed quite far. The free breakfast was a hit, but could use some eggs in the menu. The staff is friendly. Be sure to ask for a room that doesn't face or side with hwy 5. The best rooms face encinas street.
