“Gone down hill”

We had 2 rooms. The first had electrical problems with sparking outlets and a refrigerator that didn't work (I'm diabetic and need it for meds). The second room had a leaking shower, a toilet that eventually got clogged, pilllows like bricks, no lamp shade on the lamp, the TV remote had to be replaced, no glasses in the room, and it took almost 1/2 hour to check in because the clerk didn't know what he was doing. They say they are remodeling . . . then they should be renting only the best rooms, not the worst. Have stay there for years when visiting Escondido . . . never again.

“Comic Con Overcharge strikes again!”

Had to be in San Diego during the Comic Con event, so of course all the surrounding hotels were booked up. Ended up having to book a room here in Escondido. SERIOUSLY overcharged for a squalid little room. Mattress and pillows lumpy, furniture old, complementary toiletries industrial. Bedside outlet didn't work, and the room door had a "slide card, push, then pull" trick to it that nearly threw our shoulders out trying to open. Positive notes: although the furnishings were old and threadbare, and the bed and pillows really needed to be replaced, the room was VERY CLEAN. Front desk personnel were also friendly and helpful. As these are pretty high priority to me, I probably wouldn't have minded the stay so much if we hadn't paid the equivalent of a 4 star room for it.

“Very Low Class”

When I arrived at the hotel I was not at all happy with the location. Bad neighborhood all the way around. Although most of the hotel was empty, they gave me a room on the back side with no one else. Very unsafe for a woman traveling alone. My room had no locks or latches between it and the room next door. When I complained, they argued. I had to insist on another room with working locks. They did not have microwaves or refrigerators. When I insisted, they argued again. They finally brought one of each to my room. Overall, the rooms were falling apart, no drawer in the desk, peeling paint, broken up bathrooms. I asked for a refund on day two but they told me once I checked in there would be no refunds. I would not stay there again. There are much better rooms in the area for the same price.

“Never again.”
