“Great Stay”
We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel and room. Great hotel, in the process of remodeling. We had a remodeled room, very nice. Stylish modern design. Clean room, clean hotel. Would stay again.
“Great Place To Stay”
I stayed in the new Suze room which includes a seperate room with bunkbeds, and I LOVED IT. It was great for the kids and it was nice to have a seperate room. Hotel was very clean and would stay there agian. Only thing I would say agianst it would be that they say continental breakfest everyday, I wouldn't call bread and a cheese spread a continental breakfest.
“Great Find!!”
Beautifully remodeled vintage resort hotel. Super-clean, modern rooms. Large tile pool. Connected to a locally famous, old-school, wood-paneled bar and grill. Ridiculously cheap--surely to rebuild its clientele in this now gentrifying section of San Diego. A total find.
“Perfect for families with a great price.”
This is an older hotel that was recently extensively remodeled, I am a very particular when it comes to cleanliness and I've never stayed at a hotel that was cleaner than this one. We rented the "Suzie Suite" - which is perfect if you have younger children with you. In your room there is french doors which opens to another room with a bunk bed - lower part of the bunk is a full size bed and top is a twin - so you could easily fit 3 children. The kids room also comes with their own TV, a table with chairs, and their own bathroom. This was the first family vacation that my husband and I actually had some "alone" time at the end of the day (if you know what I mean). And the price was amazing. Our room also had a refrigerator and microwave.
“Nice stay”
The hotel was very convenient and provided a very nice stay.
“Walking the El Cajon trail”
Of course, we loved the location and the wonderful, interesting restaurants available in the North Park area of San Diego. The staff was quite helpful. The breakfast was deliciously simply and beautifully presented. The beds were dreamy. We were happy, and we would be most happy to stay there again. The hotel is not quite done with the renovation, but it was no problem to us.
“great week”
The lafayette hotel was conveniently located just outside of downtown San Diego. Just down the street from the san Diego zoo, two miles from Sea world, and only three miles outside of the famous gaslamp district. Everyone hotel in the gaslamp district are old and run down since the city itself is an old one. The lafayette hotel on the other hand is a perfect example of an old hotel keeping up to date. My girlfriend loved our stay as did myself. I would recommend this hotel to anybody.
“cool hotel.”
All day crew was verynice, but the night crew seemed like they could care less.
“Budget Hollywood style”
Historic hotel, which for America means mid 20th century which was a resort for movie stars. Recently renovated, the room was clean and comfy with motion sensing lights and a big TV, though the choice of channels was a bit odd. Nice pool area (designed by Tarzan!) though we didn't try it out. Friendly, helpful staff. If it was on one of the trolley routes it would be perfect but if you drive there it wouldn't be so bad.
“Fresh and clean”
A very clean charming but older property. It is conveniently located, but off the beaten track. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. It is not luxury but very clean and fresh.
