“What a great place to stay...”

I see that the reviews for this hotel have been somewhat erratic, but I have nothing but good things to say about it. I've never stayed at a La Quinta Inn before, so I had no idea what to expect. At check-in, I was greeted by a friendly attendant who quickly switched my Expedia reservation to a room with a king bed. The room was very spacious, extremely clean, and well-appointed. There was a fridge which would have been helpful had I had a longer stay. The bed was comfortable. I appreciated plentiful, free parking. It was most helpful to have free wireless internet access. I enjoyed the 10% discount at the adjacent IHOP. The pool area looked nice, though I didn't go there. I enjoyed some fresh bagels, milk, and apple juice from the continental breakfast. And I enjoyed the free local newspaper. Of specific value to me was the fact that the staff allowed me to come back later in the day and spend several hours in the lobby working on my laptop, even though I had already checked out. And they let me come behind the counter and print out my boarding passes, at no charge. This hotel isn't very fancy and doesn't offer many bells and whistles, but it offered everything that I needed. And I especially appreciated the graciousness of the staff. If I come to this area again, I'd love to stay here again and am happy to recommend it to others.

“Kind and thoughtful front desk agent”

i arrived to check in late around 11 pm and had two toddlers to hold and the desk clerk helped me get into my room by meeting me at the door and helping me unload my car into the room since I had my hands full. Very impressed with the kindness.

“A little hard to find”

Hotel was a little hard to find. Drove right by it and didn't see it as it is located behind the IHop restuarant.

“Clean, Comfy, and helpful”

I got in late from my flight, and my reservation was canceled, but the gentleman at the reservations desk was very efficient in fixing the problem, and getting me a room. Room was clean, bed was comfy, and the shower was decent (although the shower head was really low...weird). Continental breakfast was a decent spread for free, so in all I had absolutely nothing to complain about, especially for a budget hotel.

“Great for the price”

For the price of this hotel, it is a great place to stay; close to Legoland.

“Reasonable Accomodation”

Staff at this hotel were quite helpful. The room was fine --- clean and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was large and clean and all the plumbing worked well. Maid service was slow. This hotel is quite close to major highway (Cal. #78) so the ambient noise level is high. Windows were closed at all times so the freshness of air in the room depends on the air conditioner/exchanger. Wireless hookup for my computer worked well. IHOP Restaurant very close by and meals accordingly are not an issue. I will certainly return to this hotel when I return to Vista. It was decent value for the cost of the room.

“Good spot to say in Vista/San Marcos Area”

I can recommend the LaQuinta in Vista. I have back problems but woke up with no pain - GOOD BED. It was convenient (right off the freeway) but our room did not have any highway noise. External doors and no security are not my favorites but it was really nice.

“Quick Trip”

We arrived late at night and left very early. The room was clean and the hotel was right off of the freeway. Our room was on the first floor (which we requested) but was right in front of the stairs leading to the upper level. We heard quite a bit of noise as the other guests took the stairs up to there rooms. We had to leave early in the morning so we were going to take advantage of the continental breakfast but they did not serve until 7am and we had to be back on the road by 6:30am. It was a short stay but I would probably stay here again (further away from the stairs).

“Impressed!”

I was impressed with the room we stayed in. Didn't expect it to be as clean. Morning breakfest was great. If your looking for a place to stay in the Vista area. I would rececommend this hotel. Close to Walmart/Target! If I visit San Diego again I will most likely stay at this hotel again with the family.
