“A fine place to stay”

The price was good. There is a decent continental breakfast: waffles, muffins, coffee, cereal, fruit, etc. There is free WiFi and cable internet in the rooms, but no computer in the lobby if you didn't bring your own. They don't have a gym, but they said you can bring your room keys to a gym on the other side of the freeway. We went twice and it was closed both times. It's either out of business or about to reopen, I would call to check before booking if it is a concern. The staff is friendly and accommodating and they were repainting while we were there, so you should find a nice new paint job. It's very close to the 15 and 56 freeways, which was important for us because we went into San Diego and up to Temecula wine country. If you are looking for something close to San Diego, it's not a bad drive, about 15-20 minutes to downtown, 20-30 minutes to the beaches.

The room is quite small. But it does look very clean. It's a good hotel for the price.

The a/c would not cool the room very well.

“Just outside San Diego”

La Quinta in at Rancho Penasquitos, is located about a 15 minute drive outside of downtown San Diego. The hotel is pretty "standard" with helpful staff, a pool and directly next to an IHOP (although the place is packed all morning). You'll usually get a better rate being outside of San Diego, so if you don't mind the short drive, it's a fine place to sleep at.

“Perfectly Acceptable”

This hotel provides all the basics and fulfills all expectations. It could do a couple of small things to improve: 1. Start brekfast earlier than 6AM. 2. Have a more complete selection of channels on the television.

Nice clean place to stay. Good location. Not too far from San Diego with a variety of eating establishments around hotel. Checking out took some time. Attendant was having printer problems and did not seem to know what to do. Might have been new on the job?

This is a nice and clean hotel. Only thing that the rooms lack is a fridge.

The staff was very helpful and nice. The rooms facing the freeway are a little loud, but not anything that kept us up at night. The beds are soft and were a little uncomfortable for us. The hotel is in good condition and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was good with plenty of options. We will stay there again next year.
