“Feelin the beat- Unfortunately”

Best hotel staff ever. Great, helpful people. We got a first floor room directly over a nite-club. When the music started it was soooo bassy and loud that the toilet tank top was vibrating loud enough to hear. The toilet is the only room with a door. Room was visually fabulous. The problem is that there is zero privacy. The room is completly open, save the toilet, though you can hear everything going on in the toilet, even with the door fully closed. We got moved to a better room on the fourth floor. Same layout as the other room, just more space. We could still hear the music but it was very tolerable. Be prepared to be the center of attention whenever you shower. You will be more prominent than the TV, which was outstanding.

“Noise is Ridiculous”

The noise at this hotel makes it impossible for anyone to go to sleep before 4am. The earplugs that the hotel provides do nothing to diminish the throbbing music from the bar below. There are lots of bells and whistles and luxe features (like plush towels, a Bang & Olufsen flatscreen HDTV, and an espresso machine), but they do not make up for the fact that you will not get any rest staying at this hotel.

“Don't Plan on Sleeping”

The Keating is very pleasing to the eye, but very noisy. It is hard to sleep with the noise.

“Cool Hotel, But Loud”

At the Keating, the check in, staff, decor and the location of the hotel is excellent. The staff was helpful, and it is centrally located in the Downtown district. I do, however, have two complaints about my stay. One, is that our room was very loud. We could clearly hear the music from the adjoining restaurant, and it was loud in our room until almost 2:00 am. It was not just a little bass we could feel, but hear every lyric and musical note. Secondly, their breakfast does not open until 7:00, which means the earliest you can eat in the hotel room is 7:30 am. If you are traveling for work and have to leave by then, you will have to find a different location for breakfast. Those two items are enough to make me not stay there again. However, if you can live with loud music and don't need early breakfast, everything else about the stay was fine.

“Not for us!”

This is a remodeled, old downtown San Diego hotel that is now very sleak and modern with state of the art appliances, lots of stainless steel, and finished concrete floors. The room was very small with only one chair. The shower and double vanity occupy most of the rest of the room. The ceilings are high, helping somewhat to ameliorate the sense of claustrophobia. There were essentially no out-of-room services or amenities. Not even an ice maker (you could get ice through room service--one small bucket at a time). The biggest problem was the street noise, which even at penthouse level five stories up was unbearable. Our alarm had various white noise settings that we had to use at high volume just to get some sleep. Maybe desirable to the young set, but not for two fifty-year-olds.

“poor service at the keating”

hotel is a great location if you are looking for a late night partying scene and great food because there are a variety of restaurants right downstairs. the keating is truly a historic building which had some of the cool mondern features in the room. however the staff tried to be accomondating but the management portrayed some poor customer service and they were not friendly at all! overalll i would not stay in this hotel again.

“Warning, LOUD LOUD street noise”

The hotel was ok. But it should come with a warning NEVER to book on a weekend if you need an actual night's sleep. I stayed a Saturday night and from about 1:00-4:00 AM, it felt like I was INSIDE a crowded bar. I've never experienced this kind if noise level at a hotel. And I can usually sleep through a lot. The room faced the street and was just one level above a bar. And there are a few other bars on that corner. It was so loud it was comical. Unless you plan on stating out and partying all night, I would not recommend. The ironic thing is that they made me sign a "no party" agreement when I checked in, which said I agreed not to throw a party in my room out of noise consideration for the other hotel patrons. I don't think I could have heard my own party in my room, because the bar/street noise was so outrageous.
