“Great Hotel, Great Location”

Newer, hip hotel with great location in the Gaslamp quarter. Close to dining, shopping, Petco Park. Spacious, comfortable rooms, and friendly service. We had a room at the end of the hotel which provided a larger room and extra windows. Noise from bar on the 4th floor wasn't a problem. Highly recommend - will stay there again on our next trip.

“Weekend getaway”

The hotel was great. We had a rental vehicle which we used the valet service for and boy was that convienint. The staff was very nice and courteous. The pool was always busy due to the nice weather, bar at the pool, and it was open to the public. When looking for the hotel keep your eyes peeled, if you're not paying attention. This hotel has amazing location. It was a block and a half away from PETCO stadium and right near the gaslamp district which includes many great places to eat and drink during the day and at night.

“Very Nice - upscale hotel”

We stayed here for the night while taking in a Padres ballgame at Petco Park. This hotel is literally one block away from home plate....Very, Very Nice, although the decor is somewhat wierd....

“Anytime.”

Trying to escape our busy schedules, we opted to take two days off. Hotel Solamar exceeded our expectations, and we got much needed down time in total comfort and style. The staff is great, catering to every whim we had, the food at J-Six was just what we wanted when we didn't want to go on a hunt for a good restaurant. Sitting by the pool was comfortable and quiet. how often does that happen? really conveniently located to everything downtown too. Thank you for giving us such a great experience.

“Very nice”

Great Hotel Room. Service was wonderful and the restaurant food was amazing. Loved the wine hour and the roof top pool over looking the city. A must stay.

“EXCELLENT”

The hotel location is a bit hard to get to but it is one of the nicest hotels in San Diego I have ever stayed at. Everything is clean and crisp and the staff can't do enough for you. Definetely will stay there again soon.

“Kimpton scores again!”

Hotel is brand new but w/o the snafus. A terrific break from the monotony of the chain hotels; great beds, wireless internet, good restaurant. Best thing about hotel is the pool/bar/lounge area. The concept is to design the pool as an afternoon/evening gathering place with shaded areas, bar/waitress service, and at night, warming fire pits. Great idea! Strongly recommend!

“Beautifully designed hotel that accepts pets as family members”

Had a lovely stay at the Solamar Kimpton in San Diego. It's a great location, and walking distance to just about everything in the Gas Lamp Quarter. The service was great. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful. The hotel is nicely appointed, very clean and beautifully designed. It's a feast for the eyes! We only stayed for one night and missed the wine hour, but took advantage of the complimentary tea and coffee bar. The pool is a bit small, but the surrounding rooftop bar is a great place to get a drink while getting a great view of the city. The pet friendly policy is a winner for me even though I traveled petless this time. Any hotel that accepts our furry friends with open arms is a winner in my book!! Pets at the Kimpton Solamar get extra special attention -- upon arrival is a big bowl of fresh water and a Welcome sign with your pet's name on it. A great experience overall -- For any future travel to San Diego this is my preferred Hotel choice.

“Nice Hotel”

Had a good stay - would have liked a larger room service menu. Lunch staff at the restaurant was terrible - but had a great breakfast there. Loved the fact that the hotel windows open to let in the cool San Diego air.
