Such cute rooms, and cute hotel overall. Steps away from PetCo which is where my main attraction was, and other than that in the heart of everything. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel, the hotel next do rentor looked scary though, like they rent by the hour. Hotel was clean, modern and beyond dog friendly with a rooftop doggie play area and dog pool. No pool or spa for himans though?? Overall nice, quiet hotel. Not much action at the bars.

Nice modern hotel at a great location. Walking distance to almost any hotspot in town (or if you're lazy an easy cab ride). For the price, the rooms are very nicely decorated. Wooden floors and nice furnishings. Also, if the weather is right, the 9th floor bar is very convenient and has a great view. The only downside is the price of parking ...however that's pretty much the going rate for all hotels downtown. So if you are looking to pinch pennies, this may not be the place for you. But if you want to be near the downtown atmosphere (which I think is one of the best in the US), it's worth the extra money.

Close to gaslamp area and ballpark. Parking areas available nearby. Good room size. No fridge in room. Overall good value for the area. Front desk has good connections for rental cars at a good price. Room was quite and you have a real thermostat to control temp. Never ate at hotel, just many options nearby.

“Gas Lamp Jewel”

Hotel Indigo is a trendy and modern hotel conveniently located downtown (NE corner of 9th and Island; very close to Petco Park) approx 4-5 blocks from the center of the Gaslamp quarter. Valet car parking is provided (additional charge/day); the valets always gave easy directions on how to drive to intended sites. Check-in and check-out were efficient. The room on the 5th floor backed up to the elevator shaft, but there was no elevator noise at all. Bathroom and shower were very up-scale; king-size bed was very comfortable. USA Today newspaper was delivered each morning. Large flat screen TV with more channels than we could possibly watch. Housekeeping was not as efficient as we expected; a clean-up cloth was left on the toilet tank, and a bed sheet that came off during the night was not replaced on the bed. But these were minor inconveniences that we laughed about and then ignored. We did not eat in the restaurant or use room service because the Gaslamp Quarter was an easy walk from the hotel. There are drug stores, grocery stores, fast food outlets, and coffee shops within a short walk; upscale restaurants are located in the Gaslamp Quarter itself. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Hotel Indigo again when visiting San Diego.

Very original hotel, the best choice. For the money you pay you even get more than expected.

We have stayed in Hotel Indigo in Houston and Chicago. San Diego did not disappoint. The location is SUPER, walking distance to everything in the Gaslamp, 2 blocks from the baseball stadium. The hotel is CLEAN and the staff was professional and friendly. The dogs were a surprise - they are a dog friendly hotel. There is an amazing rooftop bar and patio with fire pits and heaters. Parking is steep - $35 a night, but if you drive a hybrid, they discount it 50%. Highly recommend this property and will absolutely stay there again next time.

“Hotel Indigo Gave Me the Blues”

Hotel Indigo sells itself as a hip, boutique hotel when, sadly, it is merely a Holiday Inn Express, hipster wannabe. Will not stay here again and will recommend other downtown hotels to friends (e.g., the W and the Omni). Very disappointing on many levels, the expectations from the ads and photos are not met in reality. 1) Poor customer service (and as a longtime InterContinental employee, it's ingrained in me, as it should be in these employees.) No one greeted us warmly upon arrival or wished us welcome back at the doors; when we very unexpectedly encountered rain, we stopped at the Front to ask if they had an umbrella we could borrow. The answer was a curt, "No." Geez, sorry to interrupt your conversation with your colleague, there. 2) A hotel in downtown San Diego with no hot tub, no swimming pool and no spa. Hmmm, how "boutique-y" is that? Disappointing, to say the least. 3) Teeny little airplane-sized pillows on a lavish bed! 4) No bathrobes. 5) One pod of coffee = one cup. Room booked for two. Had to call for delivery from the housekeeper. (Housekeeping, btw, was pretty quick and very polite. They are the reason there's even ONE star.) 6) Holiday weekend (Labor Day), and the RESTAURANT AND BAR are CLOSED?!?!?! And the concierge said it like that's to be expected, duh. "They're closed for the holiday!" That was the capper. After all, DUH, it's a holiday and we're here with $$$ wanting to eat and drink and party. No way, no more stay here. Sorry.
