This contemporary hotel is across the street from the San Diego Bay, 1.5 miles from the San Diego Convention Center, the Gaslamp Quarter, & Petco Park, and about 2.5 miles from the San Diego Zoo. Qualcomm Stadium is approximately 6 miles northeast of the hotel.
Overlooking the bay, the hotel's Elephant & Castle Pub and Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Children dine free when accompanied by a paying adult. Guests can dine out on the patio. The lounge area includes big-screen TVs. Room service is available from early morning till late evening.
Guests can enjoy a workout in the fitness facility and bicycle rentals are available onsite. The business center is open 24-hours a day. A complimentary airport shuttle runs every 30 minutes from 5 AM to midnight. Complimentary shuttles also take guests to local attractions including Seaport Village, the Gaslamp Quarter, and the San Diego Zoo. Valet parking and self parking are available (surcharges apply).

Elephant & Castle Pub and Restaurant - located in the main lobby of the Holiday Inn at The Bay, this restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It offers a fabulous view of San Diego’s harbor where you can enjoy a breathtaking dining experience or relax with a cold pint of beer with friends on the patio. The lounge boasts two large screen TVs where you can enjoy the greatest sports moments and special events.
Hazelwoods On the Bay Deli - serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner using healthy fresh products and the finest ingredients. It also serves a wide selection of beer, wines and Margaritas. Happy Hour: 4 PM - 6 PM.
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse - serves dinner. Its main specialty is custom-aged U.S. prime beef. Reservations suggested.

“excellent”
was able to check in early. great hotel for cruisers. cruise terminal right across street from hotel attractions and restaurants close by
“Good value and convenient location”
We had stayed at this property several years ago. It seems to have been recently updated and everything was in really good shape. The Elephant and Castle Restaurant was a pleasant surprise. We hardly ever eat at hotel restaurants, but we ate there twice. Location is convenient to the things we like to do.

“Will definitely use this hotel again”
This was a very nice hotel. Get a bay view room to enjoy the spectacular view during the day and at night. Lots of things are in walking distance (the Gaslamp District, for example) while Balboa Park is a short cab ride away. The room was clean and, after a minor problem at the beginning, everything was super. The staff was attentive (though there should be more people working the desk at peak times) and very courteous. I cannot say enough about them. The free airport shuttle is a big bonus.
“Great location”
The hotel is very convenient to many locations and activities in San Diego. It is within walking distance of the Gas Lamp District and right across the street from Harbor activities.

Everyone was very friendly. Our requests were taken care of quickly. The room was clean and the view fantastic. Quiet, except for the airport, but we expected that.

Wonderful Vacation! Hotel has a great location. Lots of area attractions within walking distance from Hotel. Great to have shuttle service to the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and Sea Port Village. Sea World is 15 minutes away from Hotel. The staff offered great customer service. The room was clean, comfortable and had been updated. Don't have to travel far for great dining. Upgrade to the bay room view, so worth it to enjoy the sunset over the San Diego Bay. Already planning next years vacation at Holiday Inn on the Bay.
“One of San Diego's Finest for the $$$”
This was our second stay at the hotel. The room rate was much more reasonable than many others in the area. It is so convenient to many tourist attractions. The club/restaurant downstairs is also convenient and has nightly Happy Hours. I will definitely stay here again.
“San Diego Visit”
Holiday Inn By the Bay-Very Clean and comfortable. Great value. Best of all...perfect location for visit to San Diego attractions and convenient to freeways for out of city excursions.
“Perfect Location”
This hotel is in the absolute best location. It is within walking distance of downtown shopping and restaurants. It is a short cab ride from many San Diego attractions. The only time we needed to rent a car was for our trip to La Jolla and the Wild Animal Park. Also a great view of the Bay and easy access to the ferry to Coronado. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
