Close to the airport

This hotel was immaculate when our family arrived. We had a very short stay, however, we were quite pleased.

Convenient and reasonably priced

W stayed in the new wing, which was very nice. The first night we had a room with roll in shower, which splashed water all over the bathroom floor. We moved to a different room the second night, which had a more functional shower.

Very Convenient to Airport

I chose this hotel because it was so convenient for our mid-morning flight out of San Diego airport. We checked into the hotel on Halloween night. All of the front desk staff were in costume and offered Trick or Treat goodies - my 7-year-olds absolutely loved it! At staff's suggestion, we upgraded to a one room suite which allowed us to put the kids to bed and let the adults stay up longer in the sitting area. One of the nicest things about the hotel is that at the hotel's Point Loma Cafe, the kids eat free (one kid meal for every adult meal). All of the staff at the hotel were very nice but our waitress at the Cafe at breakfast was really outstanding. The only negative was that the hide-a-bed in the sitting area did not appear to have clean linen when we unfolded it. We called the front desk and within 15 minutes housekeeping arrived and completely re-did all of the bedding for us. Other than that, our stay was excellent at this hotel. I would consider staying here again on my next visit to San Diego.

close to airport but not worth it

The front desk staff was not at all helpful at check in. Our room was about a block away from the front desk. We had to go outside to search for our room dragging our luggage down the street. It was dark and the area was not well lit. There was no offer of assistance to help us get ourselves and suitcases to our room. We chose this hotel because it was less expensive than the other hotels close to the airport. We were sorry we didn't pay more for one of the other hotels nearby.

My sincere apologies for any inconvenience you experience during your stay. Unhelpful staff is unacceptable at any time and will not be tolerated. I have addressed this situation with the Front Office Manager and asked that steps be put in place to eliminate this behavior in the future. Our property lay out is a little bit different from traditional hotels you normally see in airport properties, it is a little bit spread out and can be a little challenging for guests who stays here for the first time. We realize we cannot change what happened during your stay but we would certainly like another opportunity to restore your good faith in our hotel. Location, Location, Location

Pros: The location. Although we weren't on a street frontage, we still didn't hear any noise from the road.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: Jimmy's bar opposite the hotel; USS Midway and the Gaslamp Quarter.
It's all about location for this hotel. Right opposite the marina is a fantastic bar called Jimmy's Famous American Tavern (JFAT) where you can enjoy a meal/drink while looking at boats in the marina. We had a car so the location for us driving around San Deigo was good. The hotel and facilities were good and the staff in the café were very helpful. Thank you for a great stay in San Deigo.
