Nice Hotel next to the beach

We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children, the room was exceptional. Beautiful soft beds, lovely large bathroom, with a neutral beige decor. It felt relaxing with nice warm tones in the room, and importantly it was very clean.The hotel had washing machine facilities, which is a huge plus travelling with a family as it was very cheap to do a load of washing. Our room was in the new part of the hotel, the photos you see on the internet. However, when we first arrived, we were located in the older rooms, which you don't see on the internet. These were located directly behind the new rooms. The sheets were dirty, and the room was not made. This could all be rectified but what could not be was the horrible musty smell inside. I called reception within 5 minutes to explain my unhappiness and they were completly apologetic and obliging to find another room immediately for us. They send us downstairs to the restaurant for a free meal and a drink while we waited for a room. 30 minutes later, we arrived to the lovely room that is described above. Basically in a nutshell, they have old rooms and new rooms. You will not be disappointed at this hotel staying in one of the newer rooms.

Great for families , and taxi's are readily available. Staff is great and very courteous.

Weekend visit

It was nice but twice we were approached by staff asking if we were yelling, then if we slammed the door....??? We happened to be walking back from taking a look at the pool the first time.. And no we were talking softly. We had been gone all day and 10 minutes after we arrived heard a knock on the door and asked if we slammed our door... Really? Coming back from a long day out and lying down having to answer the door for that... No we didn't slam any doors... Not sure why they kept approaching us? Usually stay a a resort right off mission bay and never had any issues so definitely will stay at our usual spot next time, much better accommodations and atmosphere.

Nasty carpet, Expensive parking

The hotel room smelled musty. The carpet was dirty and several stains. The toliet flushed slow. The A/C didt work very well. Parking costs $10 a night. We booked a room with a bayside view and what we got was a room on the first floor way in the back looking out onto a side street (Nimitz Blvd) No free breakfast either. No regular coffee packs in our room either only decaf The bath towels were damp as if they were not clean or not dried all the way. The tile floor in the bathroom was nasty too.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or discomfort you may have experienced. Based on your comments, it is obvious that our usual attention to detail was lacking. Certainly clean, safe and healthy accomodations are standard expectations of our guests not to mention sccurate reservations. I am truly sorry your experience was otherwise. I have spoken to the appropriate Department Managers and they are currently in the process of inspecting and addressing everything that you described to eliminate it from happening in the future. As far as the parking is concern, parking in San Diego comes at a premium price due to high demand and lack of space available. We do have a full service restaurant to provide our guests with affordable breakfast, lunch and dinner. I know that this cannot make up for the negative impression you may have of our hotel. And please know that the above are merely explanations, not excuses for our shortfalls. I hope that you will give us another opprotunity to provide you with style of service and accomodations we wish you have received in the first place. Really enjoy our stay in holiday inn.

Pros: Clean, Kindness, location.
Cons: Nothing Special.
Location: Midway Museum, Sea World, Balboa Park, Down Town.
Location is perfect near Midway Museum, Sea World, Down Town, Balboa Park. Every place are within 20min drive distance. My family enjoy very clean and comfort room with good service. Thanks for all in Holiday Inn.

Nice hotel. Close to airport.

Pros: Close to airport. Nice views. Great little snack liquor shop on site.
Cons: The faucet in bathtub.
Location: Great location. Close to lots of sites and shopping and restaurants.
The bathtub faucet was broken and never stopped running. The gate that should open in the parking lot when you leave was broken and lying on the ground making it difficult to leave. My check out was early in the morning, 4:00am. They said there was 24 hours front desk staff, but no one was there to finalize except the shuttle bus driver. I left my keys and my cash for extra expenses and left.

New & Improved

Pros: Totally new or renovated facility .. very impressed with the overall experience.
Cons: The closet doors could use a bumper of sorts to soften the impact against the frame.
Location: Location is off of the beaten path, close to the airport, but little if any traffic noise was heard. It is close to the waterfront eating places.
Have always had good experiences with this hotel, but the new facility addition has made it even better. Great use of decor and technology :) Will be staying there again.

Nice central location to beach and downtown

Located in Point Loma is SD hidden gem... close to liquor stores, fast food, and nice resturants besides be within walking distance to marina. Only thing missing was microwave in room ... besides that it was real cool place but probably wouldn't pay the full price of $200 a night. But for $100 and less a night is a GREAT deal

I never had to lift 1 piece of luggage :-)

It was wonderful. Only stayed one night, but it was great. They picked me up at the ship... Carried all my heavy luggage for me. Took it all to my room, gave me a wake up call. They then took me to the airport... Again carrying all my heavy luggage from my room right up to the baggage claim line. It was awesome!!! Thanks for the experience!!!
