Not worth what I pay

This is me second time staying at this hotel. First stay was decent and my second stay horrible. The room smelled terrible. Outdated forniture. Visible deteriorating of the room it was not was I expected to pay for 280 a night.

Clean and nicely decorated

The hotel is clean with a nice view. The tricky part that nice view is only on the side facing marina, the other side is a parking lot. That's where we got our room with was a bummer because we were hoping to get something we saw on the pictures from the website. Hotel stuff was not welcoming or helpful. The breakfast cafe has a terrible food. Definately not coming back to any Holiday Inn again.

Unfortunately we can only accomodate what our inventory would allow and block the rooms with the view to our guests who booked that room type. I also apologized that you find our staff not welcoming or helpful. Rude and unhelpful behavior is uancceptable at any time and will not be tolerated. I have addressed this situation with our Front Office Manager and asked that steps be put in place to eliminate this behavior in the future. I also forwarded you comment about the food to our Chef and Restaurant Manager. I realize that we cannot change what happened during your stay but I would certainly like another opportunity to restore your good faith in our hotel and experience the type of service and accomodations we wish you would have received in the first place. Pros: Location
Location: Seaworld, San Diego Zoo, Old Town, Coronado Island, Imperial Beach, Mission Beach, La Jolla
We spent one week in San Diego. The hotel was in a quiet area away from the main tourist beaches. The hotel is conveniently located to attractions. We had the best of both worlds. Staff was friendly.

Pros: Swimming pool has a bar right there for easy access. Quiet neighborhood.plenty of parking at night. Staff was great,shuttle drivers were very helpful.
Cons: Muffle the fireworks from Seaworld ? Just kidding, maybe some new carpet in the hallways.
Location: Ocean Beach and Mission Beach within 3 miles. Sunset Cliffs also close ,very beautiful. Unlimited dining options and shopping nearby.
Hotel is located in a great spot surrounded by many different dining options . Also nearby are beaches, shopping, access to the interstate and SeaWorld. All within a 3 mile drive. Room was serviceable nothing exotic considering the price charged per night. Point Loma Cafe is ok. One complaint, my daughter became ill during our stay, and vomited on the bed and floor. Call down to the desk and was informed housekeeping would be with us shortly. More than 90 minutes later we received a call , lady on the other end asked if my child was still locked out of the room. Really? That concerned you so much to wait an hour and a half ?

I was quite concerned about the lack of concern from our staff and I realize the seriousness of this matter. I have shared your comments with our Housekeeping Manager as well as the Front Office Manager so they can review the incident during the staff meeting to eliminate the possibility of recurrences with future guests. I am so glad that you like our centrally located hotel. In addition to our Point Loma Cafe our surrounding area boasts of about 30 plus dining options in Liberty Station and Shelter Island to satisfy every palate. Lovely hotel in great location

Cons: Would have been better if breakfast had been included
Location: Lovely location near the bay but also near the airport
We travelled from our base in Los Angeles and, as we wanted a couple of days to explore the city and visit the zoo we booked in for 1 night. There were 6 of us, 4 teenaged children and we had 2 rooms. these were adjoining as requested. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a meal in the poolside restaurant which was excellent. The hotel lobby was beautiful.

Not the best location

We came with relatives from France for 1 night. Upon checking into our adjoining rooms we found that one of the showers was broken and had to request another room. When we went to the second room the balcony had several beer bottles and trash and been missed in the cleaning. The rooms have an old musty smell and the bathrooms are very small. The location is not too bad if you are just going to Sea World but, if you want to walk harbor drive and be close to the Gaslamp and harbor you have to drive and pay for parking. The multiple buildings at the hotel are hard to navigate if you want to go to front desk or lobby or restaurant. I will not be going back to this hotel.

A clean accomodation is a standard expectation of our guests and I completely understand your disappointment. Please rest assured that all of these has been passed on to the appropriate managers and will be talked about in the next staff meeting to avoid recurrence in the future. As far as our location is concern, our property is centrally located to a lot of bars and restaurants. The gaslamp is about 6 miles away and public transportation is easily accessible from the hotel. Great location, service questionable.

Room was nice, location right across from the marina was wonderful. Hotel staff cleaned our room but left door ajar and unlocked leaving us concerned about our personal safety and belongings. Management had no comment or resolution other than to offer to take 1 night of parking fees ($10) off the bill which they neglected to do.

Spacious Hotel Grounds

We stayed one night but kept on the move at the hotel. We enjoyed swimming, miniature golf and room service. All the staff was exceptionally friendly and grounds were easily accessible for coming and goings.
