Nice Hotel

Posted 7-May-2015
Pros: Updated rooms, big flat screen TV's.
Cons: Continental breakfast would be a nice add-on.
Location: This hotel is not close to anything but the airport. Downtown, Gas Lamp District, ballpark, or the Midway and beaches are not walkable. Rent a car.
We stayed here for four nights. The whirlpool was out of order, and that was the fatal mistake for this hotel. They should have let us know and I would have made reservations elsewhere. They offered to take us to another location for a whirlpool, but really? Another location for a whirlpool is hardly what you want after being out all day. The public transportation around this hotel is sparse, so we rented a car for three days ($10.00 per night parking). The hotel staff is friendly, the restaurant somewhat expensive. I thought they had Continental Breakfast, but no such luck. The room was clean and updated, the grounds clean and neat. There is construction at the view of the Bay, so it could get a bit noisy and congested.

Who knew the Holiday Inn could be so nice

Posted 6-May-2015
We stayed here to catch an early morning flight. We usually stay at Hiltons, or Marriotts. This hotel was even better then my ussal choice. The bathroom was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable. The staff warm and welcoming, and then the free bus to the airport made this a great stay. We will stay here again when we come to San Diego.

Lacks comfort

Posted 18-Apr-2015
Mattresses lacked support and comfort. Hot tub was closed due to repairs. On the day we arrived we were advised by other hotel guests that there was a water leak in the hotel and they were out of water for a few hours. On the next day we experienced the same situation and were told by the office that a water main broke in the street resulting in no water for 4 hours. This affected all buildings except the one with the main office. The hotel offered to put our name on a list to use a loaner room so we could shower in order to attend a wedding we were in town for. We declined that offer and asked and they just move us to the "loaner" room and they said that was not an option. They offered to move us to a "sister hotel" down the road about a mile, which we accepted. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to enjoy San Diego prior to the wedding since we were busy packing and unpacking. Personally, I don't believe there was a main break and feel this was the hotels way of conserving water. Unclear how it could affect all the building "except" the main office.

Great staff..place was in great condition..we took our 5 yr old and my 6month old. Although we weren't in the room much it was nice to come back to a relaxed comfortable room...plus for being by the train tracks and airport it was very quiet and relaxing.

Nice standard room.

Posted 25-Mar-2015
We were booked in the part B Section so we had to drive around the back. The room was a standard room, it was a bit small but it had a refrigerator. The bathroom sink area was small with little room to put things down. Although, we paid 120$ we were not offered the continental breakfast, we were told that wasn't part of the deal. parking was $10. I would give it 3 1/2 stars overall. We needed 2 cribs and they did accommodate our request with no problem.

Knocked on the door at 8:20am to clean our room, asked the lady to come back in an hr, then found our room was never cleaned in the evening when we got back to the hotel :( The manager was doing the ck in process then passed it over to another girl, she went to help the tour bus driver, do not like this kind of service.

Dear LA: Thank you so much for sharing your experience about your recent stay at the Holiday Inn Bayside. Please allow me to apologize about any inconveniences you might have experience because housekeeping did not only disturbed you early in the morning but your room was never even cleaned after that. It seems like our usual attention to detail was lacking at that time. I also am sorry that your experience during the check in process was not very pleasant as you were passed on to somebody else. I will pass this information to the Front Office Manager to make sure this does not happen again in the future. I hope that you will give us another opportunity to showcase the kind of service I wish you have received in the first place. We are looking forward to your next visit to San Diego. Sincerely, Rhinna B Meyer - Rooms Division Manager
