“Newly remodeled Holiday Inn in Rancho Bernardo a real gem”
Didn't know what to expect, room was extremely comfortable and spacious.
“Nice, convenient place”
Nice place!
“Not worth it”
I booked the hotel for 2 beds for 3 persons. When I got to the front desk, I was told that the hotel never received a request for 2 beds and that all they had was a king size bed. I asked how I was going to fit 3 people into one king-size bed! I was treated poorly with the solution that someone could sleep on the sofa bed. There were no more rooms in the hotel. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and lumpy. There was a lot of noise outside. The king-size bed was uncomfortable, too.
“Just Okay”
There was some sort of huge group of teens (soccer sports groups) with their parents/chaperones when we checked in. The hotel seemed more like a college dorm due to the amount of teens there. While they were not overly noisy, we did ask for a room change to the other building. The hotel seemed to be going through a bit of a remodel project and there were areas that were less than ideal as to evidence of construction and some dust. We only stayed one night and basically chose the hotel due to other alternatives not being available. For what we paid for the nights stay, it could have been better and they could have at least thrown in breakfast which they wanted to charge 8.95 per person for what appeared to be a very marginal buffet-type arrangement. We ended up just going elsewhere to eat. The staff was courteous, the room was clean and the bathrooms appeared to be recently remodeled. The rooms in the main building have been recently renovated.
“Not Impressed”
The room & bed was outdated and kinda dirty. Not the usual Hoilday Inn quality that I'm used to and expected. Our room was not cleaned on the first night because someone in housekeeping put out our "Do Not Distrub" sign on our door after we left our room. Why...I have no idea. We came back to our room after a long day at the zoo to an uncleaned room with no fresh towels. Will probably not stay here again.
“Under going remodeling”
When we stayed there they were in the middle of a complete remodel so things weren't as clean as they normally would be. Location was great as we had business in Rancho Bernardo and it is convenient off the interstate.
“Could be better.”
This hotel is composed of a new building and, what appears to be, a very old building. Of course, having booked through Expedia, we were given rooms in the "old" portion. Our rooms were still under renevation and small things had yet to be done. None of our rooms had baseboards and although mostly complete, touch up paint needed to be added and the doors were disguisting. Renevations were still be conducted ont he second floor and it looked like the building should have been closed until all renevations were complete. When we booked, we asked for our room to have two queens, but when we arrived, the room we got had one queen and one pull out sofa bed. As we didn't arrive until nearly 11 pm, we just dealt with it. No free breakfast either, but there was an okay buffet for $8/person. Overall, if your just looking for a place to sleep and shower, this will get you thrgough. But if your looking for a place to stay for a couple of days and feel really comfortable, look elsewhere, becasue this isn't it.
“Decent hotel. Worth it for the price.”
The hotel was clean and comfortable and conveniently located. The only thing that was an issue was all of the construction going on. The hotel was worth it for the price, but it would have been nice to have been informed about the construction ahead of time.
“Not up to expected Holliday Inn standard”
The main problem with this hotel is the lift is fully carpeted(including walls) and is old and smelly. The corridor carpet was also less than pleasant. Hotel in need of refurbishment. Location was chosen for access to San Diego Wild animal park and in this respect it was satisfactory.
“Great hotel, don't eat at the restaurant!”
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant, The Elephant Bar, was less than impressive. The food and service were both horrible.
