“We love Holiday Inn Express”
We had a great stay in La Mesa. The only thing negative about our experience was that we got into the city late, and were very hungry. We could not find anything to eat in the surrounding area.
“Old building, almost just a new name!”
We have been in this hotel before and it is obviously renovated but, compared to other Holiday Inn Express, we were dissapointed: it has a noisy A/C, an old tv with few channels, the bathroom still seems old, the toilet paper and tissues were like sandpaper, etc. The included breakfast was like the one in the other Holiday Inn Express: one of the best free breakfast included in many hotels.
“Very pleasent”
The hotel staff were helpful.
“GREATEST MATTRESS IN TOWN!!”
Very clean and comfortable!! Also loved that we were able to have a nice dinner at Anthony's Fish Grotto right next door. The mattresses were the most comfortable EVER!!!
“Wonderful”
Loved this hotel, staff was welcoming, helpful, changed our rooms to be next to our teens - helped us with directions, absolutely a wonderful hotel
“We'll stay here again.”
The hotel is close to the location we were visiting. The room was really clean, and we liked the convenience of a coffee maker and smal refrigerator.
“Central location made it easy to visit the Beach, friends for a wedding.”
Great central location for HWY access, shopping and places to visit
“Nice hotel; close to noisy freeway”
The hotel is fine and the room was very clean. There is a small breakfast room that offers more than a continental breakfast which was very handy since there were no places nearby serving breakfast. The pool is very tiny. The location is handy to freeways, but be prepared to deal with highway noise even with double pane windows. Even so, we had earplugs and would stay there again.
“Good value for the price”
Somehow we ended up in the handicapped accessible room. Because of this, it had a very unusual layout with a closet area in the front where a normal room would have a bathroom. There was a doorway at the back of the room that led to another closet area with sink/vanity and the bathroom. There was a special shower seat in the room. The shower head was an adjustable height model for handicapped guests. That's great if you're sitting to shower, but not so good if you're anything over 5'6". The handheld shower was not installed well and half of the water leaked out the tubing rather than through the showerhead. The windows were difficult to shut. The TV was somewhat small compared to comparable hotels. I liked that the room had a small refrigerator and microwave. Hi-speed Internet access included is a big plus. The complimentary breakfast was very good, fresh, and had something for everyone. Fresh coffee and fruit was available in the lobby all day. Parking was plentiful. Although the hotel was very close to the freeway, noise was not an issue. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
“Good Price Value”
We had to be close to El Cajon and this was a good choice. Property showing some wear and tear but our room was clean and well supplied. Breakfast was actually much better than we had anticipated. Service was friendly and generally efficient. We'd stay again
