“A La Jolla Gem”
My boyfriend and I picked this place mainly due to price and expected to just have an "OK" experience. Needless to say, we were pleasantly suprised to find this gem in La Jolla. The front desk help was very friendly even though we checked in later then planned. When we got to the room we loved the decor. We especially enjoyed the wonderful rainhead shower. The breakfast in the morning was excellent with a generous array of foods to choose from. All in all, I adored this place and wished I had more time there. I'll definietly be back.
“Good value at a nice location”
We enjoyed this hotel, its walking distance to the beach. It was very clean and the staff was nice. They even let us check in an hour early. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to La Jolla. The only downside is the breakfast leaves something to be desired.
“Great Stay”
The only thing I didn't like was that the rooms only had showers (only one room had a tub and it was already occupied) and me and my friend had difficulties bathing our 2-year old children. The shower had a glass door but only half so when you showered, the floor was a bit wet because the shower wasn't completely enclosed. The rooms were modern, the beds comfortable, the TV had plenty of cable channels, but my room was on the second floor and traffic was kinda noisy. The continental breakfast in the morning was fantastic and the cook was great. There was plenty to choose from from 5 different cereals, to yogurt, bacon, eggs, and my favorite was the cinnamon rolls...they were hot and melted in your mouth. There was three choices for juice and coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. The breakfast room was moden and cozy. It was such an added bonus.
“wonderful hotel, situated to all major beaches and restaurants and shops, highly recemmmend”
service was extremly good, very happy with everything , good price aswell, will definatly be back, for sure.
“Best little hotel at the beach”
No better bang for your buck in La Jolla. A 2 minute walk from the beach, good mexican restaurant accross the street, great bar (the Shack) dow the block, good breakfast at the hotel, clean rooms, nice pool. For your money you can;t beat this spot.
“Very pleasant”
We were visiting SD for Seaworld and the Zoo. The hotel was very nice, well located and the staff were very pleasant. Close to Vons supermarket, some close restaurants just to the north are very good too. Nice pool and heated spa. Would happy go back.
“Best Place In Town For the value.”
I stayed at your hotel for 3 nights. It was superb. We were very impressed with both the atmosphere and employees. Your web sight does not do you justice. The rooms and location are much better in person than the sight, it is usually the opposite. Also, breakfast each day was wonderful, always full and replenished. I said to my husband that we would stay at your establishment everytime we are in La Jolla to visit our daughter at UCSD.
“Très bon rapport qualité / prix”
Très bon rapport qualité / prix. Près de la plage. Juste obligés de réclamer tous les jours des serviettes supplémentaires, car 3 serviettes pour 6 personnes. on nous les donnait sans problème. Petit déjeuner très correct.
“Good rates for location.”
Ask for room by pool or at least off the main street. Rooms on the main street are noisy and dark. As of 7/13/09 there was construction going on. I would ask about that before booking.
“Safe, Secure, & Comfortable”
Breakfast at the hotel wasn't gourmet, but surprisingly good and filling and a great way for us to start off our busy weekend mornings. Our kids (13, 11, & 1) are somewhat picky, but they had no problem finding something they liked. Fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, bagels, biscuits, pastries, muffins, sausage, eggs, bacon, etc. and all the breakfast beverages you could think of. (we like to eat...) The only thing missing was waffles! Everything was fresh especially, the cinnamon rolls. Kids can't wait to go back just for the breakfast and the pool. Oh, and the room was nice, too. Clean and neat. Loved the walk in shower, but no door and no tub. Giving the one year old way too much freedom to roam. Hotel felt safe and secure. The toilet paper holder did fall off the wall, but that could happen at home, too...... Beds were comfortable, making it difficult to get up in the morning. All the pillows on the beds were an added bonus for myself and the kids, since I didn't need to steal theirs!! Parking was free and no hidden extras. Never stayed at a Holiday Inn before, but this oneat least made the cut. We'll be back!!
