“Always stay here when visitong Camp Pendleton”
Across the street from the Pacific Ocean cliffs, this hotel supports an evening walk, morning run, bicycle ride, etc. The gym is sufficient. The outdoor seating is very comfortable with a gas fireplace. The staff is outstanding. Keith, Mike and others go out of their way to ensure great service. The food is excellent. Buffet or off the menu, every meal was delicious. Only a mile or two from Carlsbad or the USMC the location is very convenient. I always stay at this hotel when I visit the Camp Pendleton area.
“choon”
I think this hotel is pretty good except the railroad next to the hotel. Sometimes it's noisy. Except that, everything is excellet.
“Excellent choice for families on vacation.”
This hotel is very conviently located. It is right next to the beach and I-5 and highway 101. It is very clean and family friendly. The hotel people are very nice and service is great. the only issue I have is that the daily room rate especially in a vacation package should include free break fast for family of four. That would have been perfect. Otherwise, this is a great hotel and place to stay when vacationing in San Diego and I will definitely go back!
“By the Beach, not on the Beach, But still Fabulous”
My husband and three year old and I immensely enjoyed our weekend getaway at the Hilton Garden Inn. I booked the trip to use the free teacher day at Legoland. Excellent customer service, cookies out at the reception desk upon check-in. Also, when I left my Hollister sweats in the room after check-out, they spent a good deal of time checking and I got a call back the next day that they didn't find them. Perfect room, adjustable comfort beds cool. "Partial ocean view" room-you have to stand pressed against the window to see the ocean. Our refrigerator never got very cold and we had to throw out some lunchables. On the weekends there is always a wedding or two which takes up the parking and allows for noisy d.j. music but they are good about stopping by 10 or 11 p.m. And, they still let you have access to the pool and spa during the wedding. The beach not accessible, very rocky. But beautiful sunset. Beach a couple of miles up, pay and park, not crowded, no bathrooms. Legoland and the Outlets are within a couple of miles, hotel offers a complimentary 24 hr shuttle wherever you want to go. Best to reserve in advance to avoid wait time. We didn't use the shuttle though. 30 min. to zoo. Did not try hotel restaurant except for a lemoncello tart brought by room service-delicious and brought within 20 minutes! Must go to Bistro West!!! Surprisingly affordable, romantic and elegant, yet okay for kids. Corner Bakery and Ruby's good standbys.
“Nice hotel”
Very nice for a corporate hotel. Good location, clean, quiet, helpful staff. I would stay here again.
“Carlsbad”
The hotel itself is right across from the ocean. Its location was near a premium outlet mall which was wonderful for me. I loved the shopping.
“Cant wait to go back”
The staff was very helpfull, rooms where clean, I liked that they had sleep number beds.
“Top Notch Hotel in Carlsbad”
Great hotel with a top-notch staff. From the front desk, to the restaurant to the shuttle driver, everyone is helpful and makes sure you have a great stay. Can't wait to go back.
“Not Impressed”
My husband and I chose this place for a small romantic weekend getaway, and I regret not keeping the reservations I initially had at a hotel down the road. The service the staff provided was awesome, however, they stuck a family above our room and we didn't get sleep, and we were woken very early in the morning. It took several calls to the front desk to have this issue resolved. Views were great in our room which was an Ocean Front View. Room was clean, but you can tell had been remodeled and I felt was done poorly (i.e. drain above shower had pvc sticking out with blue glue drip mark, drywall patches done poorly, new windows were thin so you could hear the traffic on Carlsbad Blvd. all day/night, etc). They have a nice breakfast for the mornings and the pantry was a nice bonus. Food sucks. This hotel is a mile south from where you actually would want to be if you want to stroll around town and check out the shops. It is located across the street from the the beach, but you have to walk quite a way down the road to find a spot to hike a steep hill down to the beach, which might be dangerous for some people. I don't think I'd stay here again because of the location and noisiness. One night they had a Mediation going on in a banquet room which was so loud, I swore someone was giving birth in there. The faces of passer-byers (other hotel guest) was priceless. I think that was the highlight of my stay.
“Nice place to stay”
Everyone working for the hotel was so friendly and helpful. It was so nice to stay there. Great view of the sunset everyday.
